My question is related to the extract of "Shadowmancer" which I am working with my grade 7 students. The extract in the beginning mentions the character of Lord Finnesterre and it also says that the kids (Kate, Thomas & Raphah) come to the house of a manor. Now my question is what is the connection / relation of manor of the house, Lord Finnesterre and Obadiah Demurrel to each other. Can anyone please explain, I have to explain this to my students. I appreciate your this help. Thank you.

I am looking to get a tattoo of this. It is on my grandfather's grave in french. But I would much prefer it for myself in Latin. I have seen a couple different translations. "Deus tantum me iudicare potest" and "Deus solum me iudicare potest". Can anyone tell me if either of these is correct? If not, any suggestions??

The emphasis upon Hitchcock`s girth amuses me, particularly as it comes from film scholars and critics whom I consider plain (euphemistically-speaking).

As someone age 64 I can say for certain that in Hitchcock`s day it was ludicrous for a man to be pretty. And if a man was good-looking in a pretty way he always played it down. The only men whom one acknowledged were good-looking were models or filmstars.

AND moreover it was not uncommon for men, particularly American men or men who had emigrated to America (such as Hitch) to be plain or fat or both. These men generally had the most gorgeous wives.

When I met and interviewed Hitch, he had lost weight. But even when he was fat I shall assume his personality was the same.

He was ruthlessly confident; manipulative because he could; and very, very kind (because he could size you up in two secs)

I found him very sympathetic and got to like him enormously, although at our first meeting he did tend to bully.

I keep reading on there that 18 is the age when you reach your peak. I don't think so. At 18 sex was a real quicke. Now I last as long as I want. I pretty much have mastered the rhythm enough to make sure my woman gets hers plenty of times before I get mine.

So why is it again that a dude peaks at 18?

I sometimes ask myself, "What are friends? Why do they exist? Why do you need friends?", but never truly reach a conclusion. Today, for example, my friend, S.N., asked me out to watch a movie with her and another friend. I wanted to go, of course, to watch the movie, but I have some family issues that prevent me from going. I knew my family wouldn't let me go, and asking them will only adulterate our relationship. I didn't want to explicitly reject S.N.'s query, so instead I uttered, "Umm, I don't know...I don't think I can go..." Her tone suddenly changed after my indecisive answer, and she professed, with a critical attitude, that I don't care about her, etc, etc. I do like her, of course as a friend, but sometimes I just feel that friends are obstructive, or antagonistic to one's life; after all, everybody is self-centered, in a way. But without friends, one will feel lonely, and, as a matter of fact, that person will be teased and abused. I know friends are significant, but what role do they play in our lives? Do we have to say "yes" to whatever your friend asks you to do? I don't know, but sometimes, I feel like friends use me for nothing.

I am currently running Windows Media Center, on a rather high end PC. I am thinking of upgrading to Vista Ultimate. My pc can run it. I am perfectly happy with MCE, but I'm a pc guy, so of course I gotta have the new Vista everyone's talkin about...hehe;-)

Well, you know with like the other OS's, you have the option, when you are installing, to "upgrade"? I don't want to reformat it, I just want to have all the features of Vista, but not have to reinstall all my programs, and re-do everything. Does Vista Ultimate have this option?

Okay.. I am a normal 17 year old girl living in Lewisham.. But, now, yes, now, I have this same dream of me, flying( I could fly!!), soaring in the sky... usually, I dreamt that I am being chased by someone.... And, I usually have someone to accompany me...last night, it was my brother... But, last night, it got a bit unique.....I was chased by a vampire or some Count Dracula!! I swear, what I am saying is all true.. Can someone help me?? Why am I having these dreams??? And, no, I do not read scary novels or seen scary films... And, this has happen, well, it kept occuring since the last two months!!! Please help me...Tell me what it means... Am I going to die?? :( I don`t wanna die!!!) I am too young..... I haven`t even got married!!! Or, am I getting cripled or something like that??? Or, is it something to do with good luck?? ( though, I am doubting that factor!!) Thanks, everyone........

p/s: and, I am usually soaring over seas(oceans) or sometimes, over rooftops......

How many people would you say that you truly communicate with on any given day?

Categorise the type of Communication and with whom.

1) How often, how long and what is the content of your conversations with your nearest and dearest, Deep, prolonged and meaningful or like brief ships passing in the night?

2) Conversations with Work Friends, Colleagues, Customers and Associates, How many on any given day?

3) Letter writing correspondence, How long and how often or have you stopped altogether?

an army and marine corps thing. my idea is, the govt should hire "undercover spies" to pose as recruits to curb basic training brutality, especially the marine corps. how many of u agree? wouldnt cost much to hire two " recruits" in each armed service basic training regimen
