I keep reading on there that 18 is the age when you reach your peak. I don't think so. At 18 sex was a real quicke. Now I last as long as I want. I pretty much have mastered the rhythm enough to make sure my woman gets hers plenty of times before I get mine.

So why is it again that a dude peaks at 18?

It depends how you define "sexual peak." If I remember correctly, 18 is when the hormones are raging, but there's not much skill or creativity involved. I think the true "peak" varies considerably from person to person. Sounds like you're doing just fine to me - your wife is lucky!!

Not talking about particulars, but 'men'...

Read an awful lot, and there is no supportable factual answer to this one. As a woman, I would say 30, still generally physically fit, but old enough to remember someone else is involved in the activity and play nice. Still in the peak fertility range then too. Women of all ages choose men of about 30 as mates more often than those of other ages.

What facts there actually are:
Looks like erectile dysfunction starts getting significant at about 40, so it must be less than 40...

The male hormone testosterone is necessary for the development of male genital structures during fetal life. It triggers the dramatic events of puberty, and it is necessary for libido, sexual function, and fertility throughout maturity. Testosterone levels peak at about age 17, then remain high for the next few decades. But after the age of 40, testosterone levels fall by about 1% a year. That doesn’t sound like much, but by the age of 70 or so, it adds up to a 30% decline.

Cardiovascular responsiveness begins to fall in men over 40, regardless of physical conditioning, and is unresponsive to training.

They say 21. When I was 21 the only thing I could think about was sex. Now that I'm older I don't think about it as much, and this is liberating. Glad to be over that. Worst thing about being 21 w/all those hormones is that it was so hard to find a partner. I must have been a dork and still am really. Then ironically as you get older and successful women start coming to you but then you stop caring about it as much. What an irony.

My guess is that at 18 men are at their sexual peak physically. Anything that has to do with your technique, knowledge, or will power isn't taken into account. I don't know or want to know anything about your sex life but I'm an 18 year old dude right now and quick is definitely not a word I would use in reference to myself.

I think what is meant by that is a man's testosterone is at its highest level at 18, then slowly declines over time. Since testosterone is linked to sex drive (both in men and women), as the testosterone declines, so does the desire. However, it's such a gradual thing that it's not a dramatic drop-off, but a gentle slope of a graph. (Most evident around 50-60, I believe.)

My hubby is 32, and can't keep him off me--I wish I'd met him at 18! ;)

When referring to a sexual peak they are referring to when the persons libido is at it's highest, when they are a raving sexual lunatic.
Unfortunately this measure is very inaccurate and people peak at different times throughout life. No two people "peak" at the same age.

For me, raw sexual desire (wanting to copulate with any skirt in sight) peaked young, 18 to 23. But the desire for the self-fulfillment that comes from giving emotional and physical pleasure to a woman kicked in about my mid-30s and kept growing until now (50s). I'm happy with the way I was designed.

Someone told me a man reaches his peak somewhere between his 20s to 30s. Not sure how true that is.

As a side note, women reach theirs in their 40s and 50s (once again, not sure how accurate that is)
