Does anyone know any tips or websites to help me in problem solving in quadratic equations. I really struggle with this. I'm good with factorising and solving quadratic equations though when it comes to reading a problem and writing an equation, I have some trouble with it.

1. Let's say: Annalyn's age now = z ; Alvin's = y z = y+3 or y = z-3 In 7 years: (y+7) = (6/7)x(z+7) Substitute the first equation into the second and you'll get the answer. 2. Man's age now = a ; son's = b Ten years ago: (a-10) = 3(b-10) In 6 years: (a+6) = 2(b+6) Substitute. Note: This is actually a linear equation, not quadratic. Hope this helps!

smarthinking.com has a thing on there where you can get a live tutor. It does cost but I'm not sure how much. My school pays for every student to be able to use it both, at school and at home. You might want to check with your school to see if it's offered to the students. I use it about 3-5 times a day and I couldn't make it without it. Best of luck.
