We have two cats and one litterbox. Yeah, yeah, we should have more, but we did for a little while and the second one was largely ignored.
We switched litters a little while ago. King Fussypants didn't like it, and took to dropping loads outside of the box. Not always, but most of the time. Curiously, right next to the box, and he'd still try to bury it a bit. Quite a mess.
We finally got a box of the old litter last night, but before we could switch back (and we are worried that's going to cause a new fuss), he took a pee right outside the box -- on quite the little pile of litter, bizarrely.
If he just doesn't like the new litter, why'd he bother to (fairly) neatly make a pile of it outside the box to pee on? I'm amazed...
(Our other cat hasn't made a single complaint about any litter we've used. They are both "fixed.")
