Hi!

I'll be making sauteed (sp?) shrimp in a lemon-garlic sauce with cilantro - Russian style (it comes out very light, with a slight sour taste - almost like Peruvian Ceviche - but not spicy). I'll be serving it over white rice. This will be a romantic dinner for two but will need to be cooked very quickly. I also feel like I am going to need a salad to go with it - so any suggestions would be appreciated. My only limitations are celery (i hate the taste) and onion (because of its obvious romantic deterrant properties)

Whats a good wine to go with it - white preferably?

Thanks for you help in advance!

Any Romaine type salad with a balsamic vinagrette.

I would choose a blush or white zinfandel to go with it.

Iceberg lettuce with leafy greens, cucumbers, green beans(blanches then cooled to make them crispy) and a sweet asian ginger sauce. Try adding cherry tomatoes or red onions for color. Try a Pinot or chardonnay they go the best with seafood. A good brand would be leaping horse which is pretty cheap ($8 a bottle) or a little bit more upscale like kendall jackson ($15 a bottle)

I think a Caesar salad would go nicely and for a wine I would choose a Gewurztraminer. Fetzer makes a nice one.

Try wild mesulin greens . Topped with grape tomatoes, walnuts and a rasperry vinegrette dressing. Maybe top with a bleu cheese crumble or maybe a goat cheese. is really good... Try a nice Pinot Grigio wine with it.... Good luck...

i think romaine lettuce, candied pecans, dried cranberries, feta cheese, and a vinagraitte-balsamic pb, or whatever yo lke best. Sweet- salty, and tangy. Not sure about the wine becuase i dont drink.

ok well i have a salad for you. apple and watercress salad.
go to rachaelraymag.com and search for this recipe. as for a wine...you might try a medium bodied soft white like: white bordeaux, pinot gris, sauvignon blanc. or a light bodied fruity reds: red burgundy, pinot noir, rioja crianza.
