I just purchased a house built in 1930. It has plaster walls that are in good shape. I want to repaint them. Do I need to prime first? If so, can you recommend a primer. I'm not sure if the existing paint is oil based or latex. I will also be doing the woodwork which is not in as good shape. The paint is chipping. Do I have to scrape it all off or can I prime to seal the chipping?

I am a medical transcriptionist and I love forensics. I would love to work with someone like Dayle Hinman, Body of Evidence or just work for a medical examiner. I presently work at home now and do psychiatric and rehabilitation transcription. I have looked everywhere and cannot find the hookup for doing autopsies here in Michigan. I have an associates degree in medical transcription. Does anyone have any suggestions to make my dreams come true.

I answered it, and read alot of the other answers, but I noticed it got deleted by the asker.

It actually struck a nerve with me. Not because I felt this woman was jelous, and not because I have seen the same women she described, but because I do agree that there are some (cerainly not all!!) SAHM's who have a holier than thou, "I'm a better mom than you cause I stay at home with my kids." attitude. Luckly none of the SAHM's that I know in my personal life are like that, but I have run across quite a few on here. Thank goodness there are some decent, unjudgmental SAHM's out there!

So did that other question strike a nerve with you, and in what way?

okay. my ex boyfriend is still a very big part of my life. he lives with me, and so do his 2 boys every tuesday and e/o weekend. my problem is they used to listen to me w/ no problems. now i think they are testing me to see what they'll get away with. the 5 year old will stare at me w/ this blank look on his face and proceed to do whatever it is i asked him not to do. i ask him to look at me every time i speak to him, and then ask him to repeat what i said. it gets me nowhere. he doesnt listen at all. the 2 year old has a big problem with telling me no and talking back. he even started hitting me at one point. i refuse to spank the kids because they are not mine, but i expect them to show me respect. how do i get this through to them??

Then she started saying how evil they were and if they became muslim they would 'have their soul cleansed'. Then some of the kids started crying. Then one of the kids fathers lost his temper and pushed her over and she fell and everyone laughed. Then she went off crying.

Serves her right doesn't it?

without bothering to read for themselves the writings of the early Christians? The heretics, for example the Gnostics, were not Christians.

I'm not asking for Protestants to take my word for it, I'm only asking them to read the writings of the early Christians instead of assuming what they think the early Christians probably believed. I don't think that this request is unreasonable since it is extremely easy to find the writings of these early Christians on the internet.

There are many places one can find the writings, but I will give a couple of places:

I've heard that because photons always travel at the speed of light they do not age. That is strange enough to think about, but I've been thinking about something even stranger lately. If I understand Lorentz contraction, anything that travels at light speed has no length in its direction of travel. So from an observers perspective wouldn't a photon effectivley be two dimensional? And how could it ever display its particle properties if this is true?

Ok,just so you know....my ipod is a nano I don't know if this will help but here goes.

1)Is itunes the only music program available to download music?
2)If it is,instead of just paying a dollar per song is there some sort of membership that allows you to make monthly payments?

I have a membership to the gym. I really do not have time to exercise thorughout the week. I am a full time college student and I work between 30-40 hours a week. Between all that and homework, I have a hard time doing anything else. Often I struggle to get enough sleep! .... Fitting in exercise is even harder!!

I have about a half hour (sometimes a whole hour) 2 days out of the week that I could devote to the gym but, is it worth it? (only about an hour or two out of the week for exercise. Will that benefit my body? or should I just not bother?)

Before the invention of the telescope, man actually believed that the stars could be numbered. The great Ptolemy gave the number as 1,056. Tycho Brahe cataloged 777 and Kepler counted 1,006. The astronomers of those days were certain that they could count the number of stars. Since the invention of the telescope by Galileo in 1608, we now know that the number of stars are limitless. Today, astronomers estimate that there are 100 billion stars in our galaxy with an additional 20-100 billion galaxies in the universe!

But long before the telescope was invented, the Bible had put forth the notion that the stars are countless in number. God spoke to Abraham that his descendants would be "as numerous as the stars of heaven and as the grains of sand on the seashore" (Genesis 22:17). Jeremiah 33:22 states: "The host of heaven cannot be numbered." Thousands of years later we see the confirmation of the Bible by modern astronomers.

I received something in the mail today and called which was supposedly a credit card bill I owe from over 10 years ago. I don't remember this at all, so how can I not have to pay this? Is there a limit on this for years you have to pay it back? It seems as now as I getting my credit in good standing, I keep receiving bills from a long time ago. Any advice would be appreciated. I am disputing the bill.
