I have a membership to the gym. I really do not have time to exercise thorughout the week. I am a full time college student and I work between 30-40 hours a week. Between all that and homework, I have a hard time doing anything else. Often I struggle to get enough sleep! .... Fitting in exercise is even harder!!

I have about a half hour (sometimes a whole hour) 2 days out of the week that I could devote to the gym but, is it worth it? (only about an hour or two out of the week for exercise. Will that benefit my body? or should I just not bother?)

Even a little bit of exercise is good, but you might save money by cancelling your gym membership if you're not going to use it that much and just working out at home..

Even a amount of exercise is good. I'm sure if you really want you can find the time. There is no time unsuitable for exercise, except 1 hour from your time to bed.

If you make a start on 2 days a week, soon you'll find that find time the rest 5 days isn't so hard as you think.

Good luck!

The gym is likely to have their ideal candidate in you.
Paid dues, not likely to return.

Now that you have paid your dues, for the term of your membership, do yourself a favor, and the gym less of a favor -- carve out some time to visit the gym.

If your time-demands remain as high as they are, and once the membership expires, find ways to incorporate exercise in your day to day activities.
Walk up stairs instead of taking elevator/escalator.
Park a bit further from your classes, stores, etc. -- longer walk.

You are in the mist of creating a lifestyle -- incorporate some healthy behaviors into it.
Some actually use a gym, and can easily schedule time for such.
However, for many of us, it a money-pit.

Of course it will benefit your body. Any exercise, especially in todays lazy society, your body willl take what it can get. Trust me, keep exercising....and it doesnt have to be at the gym. A walk or jog in your free time is sufficient enough

yes, increases heart rate for 20-30 minutes will have a significant effect. You should try for everyday, but if you can only devote 2 days thats fine. excercise is important to stay fit no matter how little, by excercising you will make ldl become hdl thus cleaning out blood streams slightly and creating good cholestorol. bad cholesterol is LDL and is from saturated fat, but HDL is from excercise created from saturated fat. HDL has been shown to even scour the blood vessels of the bad LDL that clogs them
