Ever since the release of St Anger it seems as though no one really mentions them and I don't hear them as often on the radio. Will their fame ever return to the glory days of the 80's and 90's?

St. Anger wasn't their best work.

Second, they took the lead in killing Napster traffic. While that might've saved them a few sales, most groups that had lots of Napster traffic saw huge sales.

Third, all groups run their course. Except for Aerosmith, who will be rocking in the old folks home.

You guys all need to go back to the Mall that spawned you!!

Metallica is one of the greatest Metal bands in the history of the genre. St. Anger was a very complex and personal album by a band that had been through a very intense set of pivotal moments when the future of the band and their own personal lives were in jeopardy. Just because it got bad reviews doesn't make it a bad record. Who gives a crap what the critics say. Listen to it for your self and make your own judgment. I think it's a great record. As for saying that they have no fans to "abuse" anymore, that's pure uninformed nonsense. Metallica's shows sell out every single time....not one seat vacant.
To answer your question....the reason Metallica have not been in the public eye recently is because they were on tour for two years after St. Anger came out, they took some time off and are now back in the studio recording their next album with Ruck Rubin.

Before you all throw out stupid comment about something, try and get a little information behind you first. Mall creatures!!!

Remember Napster?
Remember what happened to them after the Black album?
Remember when they really rocked?

(If you don't know why #3 was asked then you won't know why)
