CALLING ALL MECHANICS! Do I need a new clutch!?
My clutch froze up yesterday, it would go back and forth to the ground, but the gears were stuck. I'm assuming I need a new clutch and have no idea what it would cost!

The clutch was wearing down, you could feel it. The best way I can describe it as someone who knows very little about this sort of thing.. is that it felt as the the clutch came "unattached" so when I went to change gears, it seems as though the clutch wasn't pressed in at all.

Additional Details

It's a 2000 Nissan Maxima

The vehicle will not go into gear when it's running. There was a button down beside the clutch that when it was pressed in the vehicle would still start (the clutch needs to be in on my car in order for it to start)

I guess a worry of mine is that the transmission might be shot?

Someone said it might just be the cylinders.. is this possible?

Okay this may be confusing but if you are born in April 26 you are a taurus and that is how you will be forever. But, what if you were supposed to be born on that date but you were premature and ended up being a Aries would that be the way you are or because you were supposed to be a taurus is a Aries who you are gona be or are you still gona have taurus charatoristics and how would you know? You would just think that the zodiacs are BS.
Then what if I wanted to give birth to a taurus so I had induced labor would it really be a taurus or would it be the zodiac it was supposed to be born?
I guess this question is about fate.

If a friend of yours were to set up a community, would you join in? Or are we too obsessed with our privacy?
lets consider a situation where several families/singles/mixed join into a small community.
they can share chores, run a common budget (each keeping his private share, of course), maybe rent one big house for all, share babysitting, utility costs, whatever. Could even have some degree of sexual freedom within community if they must.
There'd be obvoius advantages, e.g. in case one of them is temporarily out of employment, the ship won't sink as it may b the case with a nuclear family
Of course it would only work within a homogeneous social group, otherwise they'd end up like old EU, strong members lose on it while benefits of the weak ones are arguable.
And the community would have to be comparatively small, say, up to 5 families.
Would you chance it, providing you know the participants well? Or would you deem it unviable?

My husband didn't hit me, it was a big arguement. I clld the cops b/c I was crying a lot and scared, i'm pregnant. I did not make an official statment, but I was advised later that the state can pursue a case against him even if I don't want to, and it will be worse b/c I am pregnant. The whole situation was blown up. I just don't know what to expect now. I want to filepaperwork for him to get a greencard.

My friend's husband goes out everyother Monday night to a bar with a co-worker of his (whom is a female). They work the same shift at their place of employment. My friend never goes along with them granted she has to be at work at 6:30 in the morning and her husband and co-worker works nights. He goes to her house picks her up and then spends from 9pm until 1am when the bar closes. He then takes her home. My friend has questioned her husband about certain things, but keeps getting answers that he probably thinks she wants to hear. She is lost and confused as to what is happening and what is going on. They have a child together who is 5 and they have been together for 7 years. Does anyone else out there who is married has had experiences like this and what have you done to resolve the matter.

I have a 1999 Oldsmobile Bravada SUV, and not counting reliability, I love it. It's comfortable and luxurious, functional and rides great, and has a ton of features hard to find on a regular SUV. It's like a mini-escalade. However, it's been in the shop a ton, for a few major things and a few moderate, one of the major things being a major defect in the fuel injection system that GM refuses to recall and rather makes the customers pay for. I test drove a Nissan Pathfinder and a Toyota 4Runner SR5, and the pathfinder doesn't have enough room and rides horrible. The Toyota rides ok but has an uncomfortable seat. Is it worth it to go Japanese next, are they that much more reliable that it's worth sacrificing comfort and ride? Honestly no other truck-based SUV I've ever driven (and i've driven most of them) rides as smooth as my Bravada, but I also want a reliable vehicle. I'm not sure what to chose next. I don't want a car-based SUV so Highlanders, etc are out.

when it comes to school he gets very negetive, he always tells me that he is dumb,stupid, and ugly, he thinks very low of him self

What should i do?

Does she not like me like that, or is she just scared. Because, me and her obviously had something goin, and then she just kinda stopped, and now this. So what should I do. I know not to smother her, and not to bring it up. I am respecting her wishes, because I want her to be happy. she is 13 and i am 15 . And dont say Im to young. I know, I've like many girls, but none like her, and I am jsut not ready to let her go.
