Welcome to the state child support system. This is what I have done and it worked - I emailed every governmental official (Governor, senators, etc) and told them that the state was not doing their job. I also copies the state child support system on every email after about two weeks it was amazing all of a sudden my phone rang off the hook and letters started flooding my mail box on how they now were willing to help. Make the state do their job. You can also write/email the regional child support enforcement agency. Good luck and just keep making lots and lots of noise.

Honey, the states are so back logged with cases, it could literally take years before they start taking your case seriously. You don't have to wait though. You can do it on your own. The first thing you need to do is file a motion for contempt of court. Download the free paperwork from your state's website (every state now has one for their legal system), then fill it out. Make sure you include on there that you are requesting him to bring his taxes from the last three years, two months worth of paystubs and proof of any assets in his name worth value. Then take it to your clerk of courts offic (in the county courthouse) and file it. There is no fee since it is a contempt hearing. Then have him served. Once you both appear in front of the judge, the judge is going to have him answer as to why he's not paying. When he doesn't have a legitimate reason the judge is going to impose a stipulation. And this can be anything from putting leins on his personal property, putting out a warrant if he doesn't comply where he has to pay a large part of the arrears before he's released from jail, or mandating that he gets steady employment where child support is automatically deducted from his paychecks. Once you have the order of contempt. Wait two months, if you've still received nothing, then repeat the contempt process (file the motion again). This time, things change drastically. He no longer gets to answer anything, he's automatically sent to jail and can't be bonded out until he pays the arrears.
I hope this helps....I know it's worked for thousands of others.

What do you mean by the state isn't doing enough? Do you know where he works?Lives? SS# that is all the info you need to get the ball rolling. My ex never paid and the state put a lien on his house, that still didn't make him pay,he just can't sell the house without paying the back support. The can throw him in jail, but that doesn't always work. Have you talked to your ex and asked him why he won'/isn't paying? Some guys just don't want to pay for their children, I learned to live without the money.

I don't know where you live and most states are so back logged with dad beat dad's it isn't funny. My son's deadbeat father is like trying to find a cockroach in the dark. I feel for you. I did hear from a deadbeat parent site one time. A lady took an ad out in the local paper saying her child's father was a deadbeat parent and gave his name and last known whereabouts. She included the county contact info for anyone that wanted to turn him in. I thought it was a great idea Don't know if it worked. I never checked back to see. If you decide to go that route check with county officials to make sure it's OK. Some states have funny laws. Anyhow most of your www.helpmefind thisloser.com is a start but usually a long process. The last option I have seriously considered myself is if you know him and his family pretty well, Hire a private investigator. They retainer varies usually around $1500.00. If he owes you more than that it might be worth it.

Not much U can do. My ex is over $7,000 behind in CS and the state he lives in won't even pull his license. Go figure.
Look at it this way...when the kids are raised from your own salary and he is still behind on CS, you can know that it won't go away just cause they turn 18. It will follow him untill the day he dies, then God will have at him for being such an *** and not taking care of his kids.
I know how you feel, but don't stress about it.
Although you could hire a PI to go break his legs...LOL... GL

Often you'll find that the state won't do a damn thing. Why don't you instead work it out directly with your ex?
I set up my child support payments through the bank....they automatically transfer the $1,500 on the fifteenth of each month from my account into my ex's account. I'm never late, she gets her money on time, it works great.

?? Where do you live? Call child support enforcement. I have never heard of them not collecting. If you putr some pressure on them they will pressure him. Find out where he works so they can take it out of his checks.Do a little leg work.

its really not up to the state you need a lawyer and a court date and the judge will tell him you have to pay so much or go to jail its that simple.
