NEVER HAS THERE BEEN such an age of false teachers as this pitiful 20th century, so rich in material gadgets and so poor in mind and soul. Every conceivable opinion, even the most absurd, even those hitherto rejected by the universal consent of all civilized peoples—now has its platform and its own "teacher." A few of these teachers come with demonstration or promise of "spiritual power" and false miracles, as do some occultists and "charismatics;" but most of the contemporary teachers offer no more than a weak concoction of undigested ideas which they received "out of the air," is it were, or from some modern self-appointed "wise man" (or woman) who knows more than all the ancients merely by living in our "enlightened" modern times. As a result, philosophy has a thousand schools, and "Christianity" a thousand sects. Where is the truth to be found in all this, if indeed it is to be found at all in our most misguided times?

Because there's alot in this world I find as reviling as Bush's revile for Saddam "war on terror" in Iraq - therefore - am I as justified in killing to meet my own goals? I would say Bush's justification of his wrath and for death is even less justified than my own. Therefore, logically, I have as much right, if not more, than Bush to bring death to others to meet my goals?

As we near the anniversary of the 9/11 disaster, why has no one ever, ever, yet come up with an explanation as to why Building 7 collapsed into a neat pile, whilst buildings nearer the towers stayed intact.

Today I wish you a day of ordinary miracles....A fresh pot of coffee you didn't have to make yourself. An unexpected phone call from an old friend. Green stop lights on your way to work. The fastest lane at the grocery store. A good sing-a-long song on the radio. Your keys right where you left them!

I've been watching the market now for a while concerned about oil. I see that the barrel has been coming down just about everyday now, some days over a dollar a day. But there is sill no significant impact at the pumps, and gas futures are at 1.63?? Can someone explain how this works... If the barrel goes up the price at the pumps go up 10 20 30 40 cents in a day and the stations will change their price many times in one day to meet that increase, but if the barrel goes down $1,$2,$3,$4 dollars in a week/day we only see pennies lower at the pump. I do not understand what is going on??

She is a high powered lawyer and has a trial all next month. She threatened to take the kids completely so I agreed to let her have the kids most of the time. She wants me to take them next month so that she can be free to do whatever for her trial and also continue to see the men she dates now. I refuse. The kids have a regular nanny. I see them on my regular schedule, four days every two weeks. For those of you who will say "that is why she left you" it is not. I tried for six months to get her back and did everything, and i mean everything, she wanted. Sacrificed a lot. I have begun a new life and don't believe that I should change it, even temporarily, to accommodate her.

You know when people think that the symbol of one religion might be offensive to members of another?

Can anyone's faith be so unsure and weak, that they have only to see some symbol of another faith to think, "oo-er, I'm wavering, I think I'm going to join the other lot"?
