Who "claims" to feel more righteous when doing this? Where did you get your information from? Do you have data that backs up this information?
My conclusion is that based on the fact that I have never heard anyone make this claim, you are wrong. I have noticed however that when someone wants to "stress" the significance of a specific word or idea, they tend to capitalize that word or phrase. I have seen it done with MANY words. Note that I did the word "many" in all caps. I ALWAYS capitalize the "G" in God as you are supposed to do the first letter of any person. It is also a form of respect and to let everyone know that I mean the one and only Almighty God, because there are many "gods" that people worship.

What you said is not a question. You said that you believe people feel more righteous when they put God's name in all capitals. I do not agree with your statement. Maybe you aught to ask how many people feel more righteous when they spell God in all capitals. If that were your question I could answer that God is more righteous. He is my righteousness. I honor Him and not myself. He is worthy of all praise. I could not stop doing the bad things in my life and become the person I wish to be without His grace and tender mercy.

I'm sorry but that does not mean that people feel more righteous, It means that they have the up-most Respect for GOD!!!!! I am not judging I am just stating a true & honest fact!!!!!
What I don't, and will never understand is why people feel that they have to judge what other people do! It does not make any sence at all! GOD is the only one that judges not us! It is just terrible how people can judge others and not think that they are doing wrong at all but if someone judges them, that person is scum in their eyes! It just does not make any sence at all!!!!!!

I am just amazed at you powers of mind reading.
I always thought that when people frequent sites like these that sometimes just not worrying about grammar is easier than trying to remember where to dot the i's and cross the t's. I put God's name in CAP'S sometimes and sometimes I don't, depends on how tired I am when I am at this site or how much typing I am doing.
But I will remember that you have those powers of mind reading and might look you up to read mine sometime.

It doesn't make people feel more righteous, they are simply giving God proper honor. a lower case g, would describe the 300 million plus false gods that man has derived from his own ignorance. the use of a higher case G, represents THE God. The creator of you and me, the universe..etc.

I don't feel more rightious....
but since we capitolize Hitler's name- the most evil man ever....
don't you think that we should capitolize God's name? He is love....
yes I am a Christian.... I think God's name should be respected, not cursed or made fun of....
Are you too closed minded and disrespectful to give God some respect...
I mean He gives you your next breath.... and He loves you...
God bless you and yours...
a Christian...

I only capitalize the letters that are appropriate unless I'm "yelling" at someone. I think you should find these people you speak of and ask them.

I believe it is a way of showing respect, much like using Mr., Mrs., and so on. The trouble is today we have forgotten our manners with most things, but lets face it how many of us really want to get that FATHER mad? Just think of the punishment that he just might give us!
