The answer regarding Nimrod is correct. Also, the date of December 25th corresponds to the Roman Saturnalia. "Christmas" was a way for the religious leaders of that time period to coax the pagans over to their side. They could still have their festival as long as they put a "christian" spin on it.
If you research the account of Jesus birth, you will see that he was born in the fall. There is a reason why the Bible does not give us a specific date. Jesus never intended for his birth to be celebrated.

Jesus and his disciples never celebrated Jesus' birth or his resurrection. The only celebration Jesus commanded was that they memorialize his death. For this event, the Bible does give us the date, Nissan 14. Luke chapter 22 gives the account when Jesus instituted this arrangement. In verse 19 he said, "Keep doing this in remembrance of me."

The only accounts in the Bible of birthday celebrations were held in honor of pagans. And in both cases, someone was beheaded! The first was Pharoah, who had his cupbeared beheaded. The second was Herod, who killed John the Baptizer. (Genesis 40:20, Matthew 14:6)

So clearly, Christmas is not a Christian celebration. The pagan origins of the tree, Santa, gift giving, the wreath, etc are all to numerous to mention here. You can find the information in virtually any encyclopedia, though. The same is true for Easter.

Christmas is a Christian holiday held on December 25 which celebrates the birth of Jesus. Eastern Orthodox Churches, which use the Julian Calendar to determine feast days, celebrate on January 7 by the Gregorian Calendar. Both dates are merely traditional and neither is thought to be the actual birthdate of Jesus.

The word Christmas is derived from Middle English Christemasse and from Old English Cristes mæsse.[1] It is a contraction meaning "Christ's mass". The name of the holiday is often shortened to Xmas because Roman letter "X" resembles the Greek letter Χ (chi), an abbreviation for Christ (Χριστός).

SO SANTA CLAUS ORIGINALLY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. SANTA IS COMMERCIAL.

First, holidays are like all different component of way of life. could Christians end donning footwear because of the fact pagans have been the 1st human beings to placed on footwear? loopy because it sounds, Christians are actually not worshiping historical pagan deities whilst they get around and sing hymns to Jesus on Christmans. I propose, actual - Christians shouldn't provide presents? Any nutrition ever eaten by making use of pagans is off limits? enable's think of this by. 2nd, a number of your info are a splash askew. Take Christmas timber, as an occasion. the 1st Christmas tree in history became into erected in Germany by making use of Christians in the time of the Renaissance, centuries after Germanic paganism became into no longer something better than a miles off memory.

Christmas is NOT a Christian holiday. The only day mentioned in the Bible in regards to ‘Holy –days’ is the Sabbath (In the Old Testament times there were other days, but in New Testament there is only the Sabbath/Lord’s Day). I’m not saying there is anything wrong with celebrating Christmas for fun, but as holy day it cannot bind the conscience of the believer (only what is in the Bible can and ought to do that).

Even though it is evident that jesus wasn't born in December , Christians use this hoilday to celebrate the birth of jesus. However it has become so commercialized and materialistic that most people have actually forgotten why they even celebrate it.

It has NEVER BEEN a 'Christian' holiday!!!! Nimrod, the first deified human after the flood, had a queen, her name was Samestra, and she had a son, his name was Tammuz. He was born on DEC. 25. Jesus was born in the fall, not the winter. And Easter is another one of those 'Christianized' pagan holidays.
