I've noticed amongst all of our married friends, their lives tend to echo the personality of the wives. Usually the house, kids, finances, political leanings tend to match the wives. I also notice that the husbands are less likely to commit to an outside activity until they check with the wife first. Is this common or am I just in a group of friends whose wives are large personalities?

I met someone while on vacation a year ago. He fell straight in love with me. We became best friends, but he was never someone I actually saw myself dating. We talked on the phone almost every day, and we have each made 2 trips to see each other since then. He became the only person in my life that I felt comfortable talking to about NO MATTER WHAT. I love him a lot, just not in that way. He used to send me flowers, and presents, etc., but I always told him that we were just friends, and we were both ok with that.
Suddenly, he doesn't call me anymore. We talk when I call. He doesn't send cards. His attitude has changed. I asked him if he was dating someone but he completely denied it.
Do you think he's dating someone, or he just got tired of waiting?

I am a divorced mom, 31, blonde, blue, tan, athletic, with one gorgeous daughter. I was married for 10 years and with my ex for 13 yrs.

I have now been divorced for a year and thought I would be well moved on with my life by now. My ex was abusive and is in prison for 15 years for strangulation and domestic battery charges.

Everyone thought I would be remarried by now because I have been told I am great. I am outgoing and funny and love to do anything outdoors and try anything new.

My problem is that every time a guy gets close to me I shut him out and find things wrong with him so i don't have to talk to him again. I feel so different inside than what everyone tells me I am.

All I want is to find someone who would love me and my daughter and not hurt us. I am sooo lonely. I have tried dating and am just to scared.

Any ideas? Live in rural so not much dating available. Internet dating failed - all I get is the weirdos that I don't trust to be around us. Please help.

This film blames Clinton and the Democrats for the 9/11
attacks and it is a gross misrepresentation of the facts.
Was put out by the Republicans as a prapaganda series without comercial interuptions. Look at yahoo.com the news about it.
How are they able to do this? Isn't this slander and lies?

Okay, I am just starting to date this woman, and its only been two dates and about three weeks. We seem to talk on the pholne on a regular basis...but how much is too often. For example, it feels sometimes I may be calling too much and she returns the call vice versa, but does it come across as needy and possibly scare her away...but then if I wait a couple of days...does it show I may not care when I really do?

I have two friends, one male (he is 20) and female (she is now 29,but was 28 during this problem and has Depression,Dysthemia,BPD). Both of them were having a problem, one day at the local game shop were we all play TCG,he could tell that she was depressed, down. He came inside the room, where she was at grabed her hand, gently carassing it with his right thumb finger. A few weeks later the two were talking things out,she was afraid that she was losing him as a friend,he hugged her,she asked him if it was okay ? He said that it was fine, she hugged him back. After there talk, she was welt up with emotion, that she gently nuzzled his left cheek. When he reacted to that, she felt (still does) gulity, bad of causing him to feel bad.

Let me start here: I am not one of you. However, I respect your religion greatly, and I respect that there are many of you who *do* practice the words of Jesus. I thank you for it. You're the ones who have helped me out many times in my life, and I appreciate it greatly.

My question: What is your outlook on those who preach hate in the name of Jesus? What, if anything, do you/can you do about them? On one hand, this is incredibly damaging to the image of your church (and these people are the ones who fuel many of the fires on this site), as well as simply harmful in general.

I personally know, from my own experience, that there are a lot of wonderful people who are Christians. Not everyone has this to draw on, and it's the hatemongers who yell the loudest and get the attention. I know, I know this is almost a hopeless task, but...how do you deal with these people?

See my mom is driving me crazy because she is constanly calling me by my dad and my cousin's names. For example, whenever I do something that they might do she calls me Richard, my dad, or Joy, my cousin. Whenever I ask her to stop she gets mad at me. So how do I get her to stop?!?

I work mostly with acrylics and watercolor, but a long time ago (probably 11 or 12 years back), I received a gift set of oil paints from a relative for Christmas. I was pretty young back then, and mom was afraid our house didn't have good ventilation and that I'd get it on her furniture or something, so I never did open them.

I found that same, unopened gift set again when we moved to a new house just recently. I've painted with oils before and really like them, but they're so expensive. The gift set is Windor & Newton, so it's obviously good quality, but very old. Could I still use these, or will they have deteriorated too much by now?

I had my daughter in '99 while I was working as a cashier at Walmart. They refused to obey the Dr's orders so I was forced to stand on my feet for hours w/o a break & to lift items over 20 lbs (up to 50 in most cases). When I went into labor - I wasn't even aware of it. In fact, I had just gone in for my scheduled ckup and found out that I was already 6 cm dialated. He sent me to the hospital, broke my water & w/o pain meds I had her w/in 2 1/2 hrs.

Fast forward to now, it's been 7 yrs and I'm pregnant w/my 2nd child & I now have an office position. My mother also likes to remind me that she was told (when she had my sis & I) that if its been more than 4 yrs, it's like having your first child all over again. The only thing that hasn't changed is that I continue to have back problems (herniated disk).

What should I expect this time? I always heard that the 2nd one's faster and haven't found anything to backup what my mom has said.
