Kaspersky has the highest virus removal and detection rate on all the tests I've seen. It's been rated as high as 99.7%. AVG comes in around 60%-70%. If you are generally safe with your internet habits and want to use a free antivirus that won't take up much resources AVG is nice.

If you are dealing with a computer that is already infested AVG will not be enough to clean it alone. I've tested it several times on infected PCs and it always leaves infections behind that Avast can find.

I only used the demo for Kaspersky. It is not a resource hog like McAfee and Norton and it doesn't install unnecessary programs either. I had issues with its auto-updater but that may have just been a bad demo.

Kaspersky - one of the best AV out there but... Norton - Norton AV 2009 is much much better than the previous version and is still improving AVG - good but not the best I will recommend ESET Nod32 - this AV is the best because it has a high detection rate with very low false positives and very low cpu usage

2- fast.
3- reliable.
4- supports networks' scanning.
5- excellent Email scanner.

I've heard that Kaspersky uses a lot of computer resources - much like the nasties it's supposed to remove.

AVG gets my vote :)

On a tangent... Firefox gets my vote over IE... by far.

hi, perhaps you can try Norton to remove the virus. but you need to pay for the software.

i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.

besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

download firefox for free:
