I have a 16 year old and an eight month old. My doctor explained that my body would treat this baby as a first pregnancy. Both pregnancies, I never even had my cervix soften and was overdue and induced. I believe that you will probably have a very similar labor experience. I would definately get very frequent check ups towards the last month. Some women just dilate the easy way! Good luck!

I think it's different for each individual. With me - I had my first child when I was 18 (I was in hard labor for less than 2 hours) - my daughter came along 6 years later - my labors were basically very similar. I was in hard labor for about 2.5 hours with her - she was and still is a little more stubborn. My 2nd & 3rd child were only 15 months apart. I never did have hard labor with him and from the time I pulled into the hospital parking lot to the time of delivery was about 9 minutes (cut that one a little close). My last child was almost identical to the first and second one. (there are 3 years inbetween #3 & #4). ---
Basically, my life style didn't change a whole lot - I was a student with my first and I've had office jobs with the others. I'm sure you will be fine.

Well I have 3 children. My first 2 are 14 months a part. My second labor was cut in half. My third child however is 5 years after my second one. The time it took to have him was shorter than both of my other pregnancies, but the experience was more like my first.

The only thing that I have ever heard is that the second child often takes less time. My mother had three kids and each birth was different. With her first, she was in labor 4 hours. With her second, 14 years later, she was in labor for 12 hours. With her third, six years after that she was in labor for 2 hours.
I think every birth is different, so all you can expect is the unexpected.

Every single pregnancy is slightly different. My own mother's second pregnancy ended up far more difficult - my little brother was born through C-section, while I was born through a forceps birth. There is no telling. There is the obvious assumption that since your pelvis has already expanded to fit a child once and since you've "stretched" to let the child out previously, then it'll be easier. Truthfully I believe it'll probably tear and stretch you anew as after 7 years your body simply recovers the wear of a pregnancy...

Generally the second one is faster. But with you I am not sure. Seven years is a long time. Also your first pregnancy you were much more active which does make an easier labor. Really every pregnancy and labor is different.

Ok not everyones second one is faster but i know mine was i had my second in just 4 hours but i do know that heavy lifting and things like that can cause labor to come faster. My first child was easy and smooth and only took ten hours now my second child was quick but with much pain and many complications so it really just depends on what your silly baby will want to do.

first of all.. i would have quit or sewed the stupid employer!!! i can't believe that didn't obey your doctors orders.. you could have had a good case there!!
it's been 5 years for me too.. and am now pregnant with my 2nd child too..
i hear different stories.. i hear 2nd one is also faster, when others tell me, every preg is different.. maybe it's true.. my mom had 4 kids. and suffered the most in labor with my youngest sister (the 4th child).
good luck!!

Wow, that was rather tramatic and harse at walmart....anyway, as far as your delivery being easier, it is hard to say because every birth is different. It was unusual for you to have your first so quickly, however, in my opinion, 7 years doesn't make a difference on whether or not you'll have it quicker or slower, it just depends on how your body is going to react to the delivery.

my 2nd one was easier... much much easier. I had the same kind of situation as you do. working for the 1st and not working for the 2nd. and i also have a herniated disk.
but if your 1st one came in 2 1/2 hours I dont know how much faster they can come.
good luck. i hope its easier
