I'm a 24 year old guy working in a depart with 15 women over 30. At least twice per week, there's always something they want me to pitch in for. Either they want me to pitch for some babyshower of someone in some other department I don't even know friend of theirs, or they want me to pitch in for one of the girl's B-day that I don't talk to. They buy these special cakes and lunches celebrating stupid stuff like one of them getting a BF, or one of them getting over her BF. I don't talk t them, they don't talk to me, except when there's something "everyone" in the department needs to pitch including me, the only guy who doesn't get along with them. It sucks.

I had a checkup and they found i had a heart murmer (not sure how to spell) And i went to the hospital for some test they did like an ultra-sound on my heart, and they said i had a narrow artery, and i have to come back in 2 years for another check up.

The reason i am asking this question is because i read the Claire's paper that you have to sign, and it says if you have a heart problem, you could have problems with getting your ears pierced. Do you think this would be a problem?

There is absolutely no proof at all. (a book written two thousand years ago doesn't qualify as proof). All I ever hear about is people saying "have faith have faith". So you believe in something just to believe in it? You can have faith in anything that doesn't make it real. All modern day science goes against religion,

Do you believe in god because you are afraid of what will happen if you don't? Do you really think that morals stem from a book that has more moraless actions than most books written today? (Seriously.. Read the old testament.. god is ruthless.)

Think about the world without religion. No religious wars. No hate justified by religion (gay marriage, racism (yes in the 60's christians scanned the bible to find anti-black quotes to justify their hatred), stem cell research). Everything would be dictated by reason and not by emotion.

In a time where everything has advanced so much. We've advanced so much as a species. Why do we still hang on to this primitive ideal?

I'm great at computational math (Calculus sequence, Algebra, etc) but now I'm making the transition to advanced mathematics.

I'm learning it myself over the summer so I can be more at ease come the real thing.

Have any good tips on studying mathematical proofs? Please post them. I find the whole process of making an hypothesis, justifying it and then forming the conclusion strange.

As a couple, spending all day every day together ( hours and hours, as opposed to a quick date now and then) for several months straight, is it leading to an unavoidable break up?, cuz we would get REALLY REALLY sick of each other ( mostly from a guys point of view) or is it rather a good thing cuz its means we're getting to know each other well. My manager is having a baby in July, everyone at work is throwing her a baby shower. I really don't want to go. This girl thats having the baby is only 20, just got married to a scumbag. They only want a boy. If its a girl her new husband doesn't want anything to do with it and she's even talked to me about her mother raising it if it's a girl. Her husband has told us that whatever we buy them he's just going to take back to the store because they don't want any handouts even though their broke. so i've always felt out of place in school but i joined choir this past year and i finally found a place where i fit in... acting is my first love and i LOVE musical theater. i hope to move to nyc when i graduate and i want to perofrm no matter what. i currently go to a very large high school [2600+] and earlier this summer i thought i would enjoy it. but a lot of my friends go to a charter school in the larger city next to ours called the public academy for the performing arts. its a really good school but i'm afraid if i go there i will end up doing something i regret. or worse, i'm afraid i wont measure up to the talent. what should i do?
