Why is murder a crime and not abortion?

Because people can close their eyes to the wickedness of something if they want it bad enough. I have another question on that topic. Why is it that people can be charged for two lives when they kill a mother and the baby inside her womb, but partial birth abortion is considered ok, where a baby is aborted as it is being delivered?

Really, I don't have anything to say that's much different than what is already posted but since I am very passionate about this subject I will go ahead and speak my mind. It's obvious why MURDER is a crime. But ABORTION...In my mind it is a crime b/c it is the same thing as murder. But unfortunatley I don't make the rules. Abortion is legal because the top dogs belive in women's rights, which I'm all for except on this topic. Women, or anyone else, should NOT have the "right" to decide that a child should die just because it wan't the right time for them to get pregnant. And really, when you think about it, most women who have abortions regret it later. There are many people who can't have children of their own and want to adopt. So if anyone reading this is thinking about having an abortion, PLEASE remember those people!

Good question! I think that people don't consider abortion a crime because they don't believe that a child is an actual person until birth. I know that I believe upon conception that is a human being. They have a heart beat and they can feel pain, I don't care what anyone says.

legally speaking a baby is not a citizen until it draws a breath but the mother is a citizen before that time and is effected by the baby ( until the baby is born it is a parasite not a human)

BTW I had to come back to point out to all the lovely people complaining that a baby has a heartbeat. it does have a heartbeat but that never has been an indicator of life (if you removed the head fast with a guillotine the heart would continue to beat for up to two minutes although the person could not possibly be considered alive) life is determined by brain function and that doesn't happen in full till the third trimester :)

I don't know but it should be called murder. I mean the baby didn't ask to be but there they are. There are thousands of really good people who want a baby. Put the child up for adoption don't murder them. Give some of these good people a chance.

I personally hate it and despise any one who gets an abortion..
A baby has a heartbeat at 21 days after conception so as far as i am concerned anything thats breathing is well and truly alive...

Because people want to let people have choices. I do believe that there should be strick guildlines put in place especially for people that think abortion = Birth Control. But I feel just as strongly that a women victim or rape and/or incest should not have to carry that child. So I guess I'm pro life/pro choice....see thats why there is so much debate because there is to much gray in there.

GGOOOSSSSHHHHHHHH!!! If you don't believe in abortion and think it is the same as murder, don't get one, don't let your sister, mother, aunt best friend, daughter or dog get one. This abortion= murder argument, like ignorance and racism, will never go away.

i dont know but abortion is the same as killing a human life at conception at 6 weeks there is a heart beat so it is a baby a human life a fetus not just some sack

It is because the laws in this country have become mixed up. It is murder in God's eyes.
