I had a checkup and they found i had a heart murmer (not sure how to spell) And i went to the hospital for some test they did like an ultra-sound on my heart, and they said i had a narrow artery, and i have to come back in 2 years for another check up.

The reason i am asking this question is because i read the Claire's paper that you have to sign, and it says if you have a heart problem, you could have problems with getting your ears pierced. Do you think this would be a problem?

I would seriously ask your doctor. Most heart murmurs are caused by blood leaking around one of the valves in your heart. People with these problems need to be very careful with procedures that can cause infections (which pierced ears and other body parts are famous for). Some people with those problems need to be placed on antibiotics before they can see the dentist or have other invasive procedures done. Remember that you will have a piece of metal, however small, in direct contact with your blood stream. If it is really important to you to have your ears pierced ask your doctor. He may tell you to go ahead now or he may prescribe an antibiotic and tell you to wait a week or two.

I have no clue. I have 2 holes in each ear from Claires and I don't see how that would effect your heart. Though, I do get very dizzy, and my heart races right before they do it. Getting your ears pierced does NOT hurt AT ALL! It just gets very hot, ask for some solution to put on it right away, it cools your ears down.

Claire is only trying to protect their legal rights. Nothing about your heart issue and piercing ears.
It's there because once they pierce your ears and you have a heart-attack, no one will sue them.

No. It could be that they are simply covering all of the bases to avoid lawsuits over eight dollar piercings. I would recommend going to a real piercer/tattoo place and using the hollow needles. It hurts even less and there is no crazy "gun" snapping noise that could cause you to jump out of your skin.

The ears and heart are mutually exclusive, get your ear peirced. Now if you say you want to get your tongue pierced....bad idea. Don't even thiink about it!

They say this because if you become afraid, it could have an adverse reaction on your heart. thats why people with heart conditions can't ride roller coasters

i don't think its a problem. if you are actually worried ask your doc but i think they just have to say that crap b/c if you see blood and are shocked and have a heart attack they can say its not their fault.
