I know that U.S. Citizens do not need a passport to go to Hawaii however, I was wondering if a Non-Citizens with a vaid Visa needs a passport, due to not needing one for regular State travel.

I'm taking my friend to Hawaii for 10 days to relax and forget about all the problems he's got going on at home right now. He considers himself a hippie, he smokes pot and would probably like to hang out with other hippies and drink and smoke in a relaxing places that's not too touristy... If he likes it there he said he might not come back for 6 months or a year.. Which island/city is best to take him to?

I've only ever been to Oahu, but this christmas we're going to Kaui. Staying in Poipu, right on the beach. Looking for recommendations on things to do... interesting in everything from great surf/snorkel beaches to dive spots, to pretty much anything else! Vegetarian eating tips particularly appreciated.

Any tips on cool off-the-beaten-track stuff appreciated!

And if so where did you stay/ Did you like it? What is included…flight, hotel, etc??? How do you get from air port to hotel and back again when you check out…is that included in you final cost?? We have NEVER taken a packaged vacation and need specifics. I asked a question Sat on Hawaii and it was most helpful on which island to stay at…now I need more info from people who have taken a ‘packaged’ trip. I have looked at .com travel sites, but still need help. Thanks in advance.

I'm planning to go to Hawaii I'm not sure when to go. If I go in December, I would go to Oahu because it's cheaper than Maui but also nice. If I go in January, I'd go to Maui because the voucher I have for the hotel is only valid at Maui.

I did some research online and the price to go to Oahu in December plus 3 nights hotel is almost the same (sometimes cheaper) if I go to Maui in January and with only 2 nights hotel.

We are in our 60’s and have never been to the islands, so have no clue as to which island to choose. We want a hotel right on the beach; romantic and cozy would be great. We are planning a Valentine’s week trip (our 3rd anniversary). We need to know whether to book online at one of the travel.com sites or deal in person w/travel agents? We’ll need ‘the whole package' - flight, rooms and car rental. Money is a concern of course, but we’re not getting any younger, so want to choose carefully and make this a vacation to remember. Any and all suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks,

I have read some answers to the question "Do native Hawaiians hate tourists?" and I was floored how rude tourists can be! What is the matter with these people that they'd be so rude?

We're taking a trip and want to splurge on one fancy dinner. Looking for something with a great view and great food. Also, it has to be some place we can walk to (ie. somewhere near the Waikiki hotel strip). Any suggestions?

Three adults looking to visit the Big Island. Can anyone help me?
Can't decide what side to stay on - the Kona side? Is it hard to get from one side to the other by car, or is it too far? We would be staying at least 8 days in late November. Will the water be too cold? Interested in staying at the Mauna Lanai Bay Hotel (think that's it) but worried it could get boring for 8 days in one location, if we have to drive all day to sites. All suggestions appreciated!Thank You, Thank You!!!
