I would say the Outrigger Reef on the Beach. It is right on the beach and we had a partial ocean view with a balcony. It was great. The rooms are nice sizes. The hotel is not to expensive but you have great service there. They have a great restaurant, The Shorebird, it is a completely open restaurant on the beach so it is really pretty when the sun goes down. Another plus to this restaurant, you grill and season your own meat. My husband and I ate there two days in a row, it was delicious food and we had so much fun!

Hi,
I live in Hawaii and I would recommend:
The Estates at Turtle Bay, Ilima Hotel, Park Shore Waikiki, Queen Kapiolani. Outrigger, The New Otani Kaimana Beach Hotel, Hale Koa Hotel, Radisson, DoubleTree Alana Hotel, Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki.

Depends on what you're looking for. The Sheraton Moana is a beautiful luxury hotel in the heart of the strip, the Royal Hawaiian is full of history and pink stuff, the Hilton Hawaiian Village is set a little apart from the main strip, but is huge with tons of shopping and activities. I just stayed at the Kaimana Beach Hotel and I liked it because it was a 10-minute walk away from the crowds on the main strip so it was peaceful and quiet, but close enough to walk to the shops and restaurants.

My mom's in the hawaii hotel business and i live in hawaii, so here's my take on which ones to go to. I'd say Outrigger cause it's cheap, yet you get great service. There's a bunch of activities they set up for you and great beach views. If you're looking somewhere else than Waikiki go to the Turtle Bay resort up near North Shore. enjoy Hawaii if u r coming

My #1 choice is the Pacific Beach Hotel. I have stayed at this hotel four out of six visits to Oahu, Hi. The second one would be the Waikiki Beach Marriot Resort Hotel: they have feather beds in the rooms!
The last one I haved stayed at is the Waikiki Radisson Prince Kuhio.

don't worry about 'best'. You'll be too busy outside, and having fun everywhere on the island. Save on hotel, spend on a car. Unless you're the type to sit in a hotel room watching tv, while a beautiful Hawai'i is outside. Don't worry about best hotel...just don't miss the swapmeet at Aloha stadium.
