Average high is 80 Average low is 66. This is for both Jan. and Feb. Average rain is 3 - 4 inches. Number of notable precipitation days is 9 - 10 days in the month. Hawaii doesn't have a rainy season, but if they would then Oct - April have the highest rain averages. Don't let this discourage you though because again there is no hurricane or rainy season. Several people go during these months and have no disappointments when it comes to weather. If it does rain it doesn't typically stay very long.
Hawaii is beautiful year round to travel to. If there is anything I can do to help you with your travels feel free to let me know. If you are looking at Jan or Feb travel I wouldn't wait to long to start looking into it. Airlines aren't running as many flights so space is going to be more limited over last year.

Hawaii has two seasons, winter and summer. The main differences are the amount of rain and much less so the temperatures, especially from place to place. The average temperature year-round is 75º F Between the warmest weather in August and the coldest weather in January. The daytime temperature may vary 5 - 7º F. February is the most unpredictable month. Temperatures depend on elevation. In summer, go over 2,000-ft and it's definitely cooler; temperature drops three degrees for every 1000-ft of elevation. But it also rains more in the mountains and upcountry, especially on the windward side.
Winter runs from mid-October through April. During this period, rains are more frequent, longer and more intense, even on leeward coasts. Daytime temperatures at sea level are in the mid-70s to low 80s. Nighttime temperatures run from the low 60s to the low 70s. Trade winds that usually blow in from the northeast are somewhat erratic and in February, may actually cease for a few weeks.

The weather is wonderful then. We went to Oahu from Feb 22- March 2 of this year & it was perfect. We swam my husband learned to surf; and the beaches were not very crowded either. Our flight was around $1500 round trip (about $750) per person. I booked the tickets back in July of 07 for our Feb. 08 trip.

In January, highest average temperature in Hawaii (Honolulu area) is 27 degrees Celsius and low of 19 degrees Celsius. In February, the average high is also 27 degrees Celsius and 18 degrees Celsius for a low. The coolest month is February. Rainfall on average is highest in December at 72.4mm, in January at 69.3mm, and in February 59.7mm. Those are the 3 rainiest months of the year. Still, not too bad considering.

There's a saying in Hawaii: If you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes and it'll change.
It should be moderate, warm enough to swim. But not too hot. There will be short rainstorms that last less than one hour.

Overcast and wet. Still, it will be much nice than wherever you are leaving. Cool? It is VERY unusual for the temperature to dip below 50 degrees Fahrenheit. The locals break out the blankets when it goes below seventy.
