Duke's Outrigger at Waikiki was excellent. The Food was amazing, and we were seated at a table right on the beach, just a few yards from the ocean! It's right on the Waikiki Hotel Strip, so it's very easy to get to, and it was the only place open when we arrived on Christmas Day 2002!
It was absolutely beautiful!

There a restaurant called Le Mer (?) or something similar located in the Halekulani Hotel. Very fine dining (means pricey) but I hear service/food is excellent! Not sure on the view offered.
There's also a restaurant called the Hanohano Room located within the Sheraton Waikiki hotel. Since it's at the top of the hotel, view s/b decent.
Have a great time! Aloha

If you love sushi or Japanese food... Try SANSEI... Its on the main strip and if you do go there, get the Shrimp Dynamite. Simply awesome! They also have wonderful, local inspired sushi along with traditional sushi and sashimi.
Another good place is the Hano Hano room, 30 floors on top of the Sheraton. Turns into a night club on some evenings. Really good food there too and great service.
Try to venture out away from the hotel bars and restaurants. There are many treasures to be found, still within walking distance in Waikiki!

Try the Oceanarium Buffet Breakfast (they do have dinner there also), the dinner is Prime Rib!! At the Pacific Beach Hotel. Great food, and you can view part of the largest indoor aquarium in the world!!! It is a 3-story, 280,000 gallon indoor aquarium. That is the view in the restaurant. There are two other restaurants there at the hotel also, a seafood restaurant, and a Japanese restaurant.
The Pacific Beach Hotel is located on the corners of Kalakaua and Liliuokalani Ave. In the Waikiki Beach area.

i'm no specialist on clubbing, yet I only opt for you to be conscious that Hula's is a gay bar. My youthful ones bypass to quite a few the places that were pronounced, together with Pipeline. i does no longer be so aggravating about Pipeline, yet in case you opt for to bypass downtown after darkish, use caution. no longer a lot contained in the golf equipment, yet on the streets on your way out. some places for a good meal & drink in Waikiki are Sansei's & Duke's.

The Diamond Head Grill in the W Hotel. Great food (but no view). I mean really great food. The Executive Chef has his international awards lining the walls in the lobby.

I don't know about fancy but I did really enjoy the buffet dinner they do with the show called 'The Creation'. It was almost like an indoor luau but not as cheesy. Would highly recommend with the good seats. It is at one of the hotels. See the website below for full details.

For our fancy splurg dinner me and my husband went to the Hilton hotel restaurant. OMG...I cried 3 times during dinner. It was so good. The crab cakes were so good I cried. The Snapper was so good tears welled and poured out of my eyes it was so good. The wine was wonderful and calmed me down and the waiter was so friendly and 'real' I cried. My husband didn't cry but really enjoyed his filet mignon, very tender cooked at medium.
