I'm planning for my 21st birthday, and I'm not sure where I want to party at. I don't even know if KC might be the best place. I usually visit Olathe (I live three hours away) every couple months. If Kansas City is not a great bar/club scene where else would you recommend? I will go as far as Springfield, MO; Tulsa, OK; or Wichita, KS. Also if you want.. you can recommend a drink! :D

It is gorgeous! It just opened yesterday. They have amazing stores, even an Apple Store. It is right next to the airport, next to Fry's. Let me know what you think of it.

Okay, I'm going to re-word my last question. Just out of curiosity, I was just wondering how far is San Jose, CA to Sunnyvale, CA by foot? I have a friend who will be traveling to San Jose at the end of December and he told me that he wants to travel from San Jose to Sunnyvale by foot. I looked at a map and I told him he was nuts if he was going to travel by foot. But just out of curiosity how far is it and HOW LONG, on average, does it take to travel by foot between those two points?

If you could also provide the reasoning behind your answer as to why you think the particular New York City Christmas trees you mentioned are the most famous, beautiful, awe-inspiring, etc. The location of these places would also be most helpful. Thank-you so much to all those who take the time to answer this question, I understand that people have greatly varying opinions, and all shall be welcomed!

I am in the Sierra Foothills. (of Northern California)
2400 feet. (give or take)
Its dark outside, while I go to get firewood, and this is the second time I have heard this creature, "along the house" its is like a snorting, gasping sound, with its body plunking quickly along away from me. (yea I know about flashlights)
Its just like a pig or hog that is pissed off and cant breathe right, sound!
Have not seen it yet and am wondering what it is, as it only comes out at night.
thanks
Hey, ok, I admit it kind of freaks me out and being that I am not in the mood to look around at NIGHT TIME - ALONE for it, I just thought someone out in YA-land may know.

I have been a housekeeper for almost sixteen years. I have worked in dozens of hotels, motels, bed and breakfasts' and inns. My question is what is more important to you, the traveler? How clean your bathroom is, the landscaping of the hotel, whether or not there are scuff marks on the walls from luggage carts and the like...what sticks out the most to you when you're traveling? Do you choose a place because of the name or because you've stayed there before? How much detail of the cleanliness of a place are you really noticing other than how clean your room is? I mean, I know that's the most important but I'm wondering about the little things outside your room, what are you looking for in a place to stay that's going to feel as comfortable as home?

I'm reallly really scared. seems all the posts say it's NOT safe in Miami, not alone for female solo traveler.

Does anyone know if the oil spill reached Marin... Muir Beach, Stinson, Bolinas, etc...? I was planning on doing the beach hop this weekend, but that would be useless if everything's closed.

I called the company and spoke to a guy who couldn't really understand me. He was saying I need proof of insurance to hire a car and scince im from the UK, they won't cover me for insurance?

What is the norm for this situation?
