Yeah, I know...DisneyWorld. Besides Disney, what are some fun activities for us and our 2 and 4 year old kids? Something outdoors, related to animals, hopefully not too crowded...ideas (we're travelling between Christmas and New Year's). D

I am not a student, I am moving for work. I am from Nashville, and we have an area right outside Vanderbilt University, but it is primarily young professionals, not students, and is within a short drive of downtown Nashville. An area like this would be ideal, any ideas??

I am traveling to Orlando, FL for business and leisure in July 2008.

If I were to take public transportation from Orlando Int'l Airport to Downtown which bus line is convenient?

Being that is the weekend, I'd like to go to the gay discos/nightclubs as well, whereabouts is the "gay district" in Orlando?

What is a recommended hotel to stay at, not-necessarily gay-friendly cause I can blend in easily with any environment?

Being that my business is in the downtown area, I would still preferr to stay in the gay district.

Any information would be fully appreciated. Thank you!

Hello,
I'm thinking of relocating to the Boston are. I'm hoping to rent a two-bedroom apt. for 1300 or less a month. I've seen Craigslist ads for such in Newton, Medford, and Belmont, but I don't know these towns.
Can anyone recommend quiet and safe towns that are within commuting distance of Boston (say 1 hour or less commute time)? Preferably, I'd like something with a cute, walkable downtonwn area.
PS: What is the culture and nightlife in Boston like, for single thirty-somethings? I grew up near NYC, and I've lived in San Francisco, so I'm used to exciting nightlife. I understand that Boston is more lowkey, but I'm wondering if some residents could give me their opinions.

Short of the wineries and the campuses, I did it all: The commons, nice old bookstores, fabulous restaurants, Ecovillage, hiking to the Falls on possibly the most gorgeous nature trail I have ever seen or experienced. Got a taste of student life, family life, life in shared or intentional community. Stayed at a sweet bed and breakfast at a more than reasonable price. Connected with more people in one day than I would ever connect with in NY in one week. Although, I did just have a blast breaking the no-talk rules on the A train and on the elevator on my way back to my apt. in Harlem.

So what's the problem? I want to move. I know my days are numbered here in the Big Apple. For the first time in a long time I was actually disappointed when I saw the NYC skyline looming in the distance as we approached on the interstate.

But in the past when I tried moving to SC (long story) I came back to NY after six months hugging cab drivers. D'you know what I'm sayin?

Feedback?

i would like to go to New York city this coming holiday. i was thinking of staying at a hotel near woodbudy commons outlet mall for a few days then go back down to new york city for a few days before heading back to canada.
i was wondering if i wanted to head to go there by plane, would i be going to New York Laguardia airport then take a cab to a hotel near central valley? or is there another airport closer to there than that one? how far away is central valley from new york city anyways? AND does anyone know any good hotels within walking distance to the outlet mall?
any info would be greatly appreciated!
thank you!

I will be arriving via Amtrak and was wondering if walking from 34th St. to 47th Street (approx 15 blocks) down 7th Avenue would be safe? I will have to shoulder type bags with me also. Or should I just grab a cab and get down to my hotel that way. If I grab a cab, I've been told it will be about $10 (my hotel told me that). I've never taken the subway before (in any city), so would rather not try to figure it out right away. I will be arriving about 10:30-11 a.m. in the morning. Would I be safe walking back to Penn Station along that same route also anywhere between 2-3 p.m?

I will be walking around once I check into my hotel, so I don't have a problem with that. It's more the fact that I'll have the luggage type bags with me and I don't want to be noticeable or a target because of that. I don't know how populated that area is either with people or if it's safe, which is why I'm asking. Thanks.

Is it better to book here with Virgin before leaving, or to do a deal when there. Our first American holiday and really looking forward to it. Doing a fly drive from LA to San Francisco taking in the Canyon on the way. Any other tips would be greatfully received.
