I am 22 years old, and moving to the Bay/San Jose area. What is the best area to live for young proffesionals?

I am not a student, I am moving for work. I am from Nashville, and we have an area right outside Vanderbilt University, but it is primarily young professionals, not students, and is within a short drive of downtown Nashville. An area like this would be ideal, any ideas??
