I'm inclined to take the train, having taken the train between NYC and Boston; it's fun, and DC is one stop further on that line. I'm planning to visit a friend in DC in the fall and thinking of taking the train. A friend of mine says the train is a waste of $ and the bus is a better deal. I don't mind spending a little bit extra for a better experience. But what do you think? Have you taken both the bus and the train? How do they compare?

Obviously there are no dirt cheap areas to live in nyc, but where are some more affordable housing options that are still close to everything, and safe? (affordable being in around 250,000 for a place) Also what are some ways to live cheaply, so that you still have extra money to spend on leisure activities such as vacations and stuff?

This weekend is supposed to be a huge debate at the High School in Middleboro over a proposed casino. What is your opinion having one in Massachusetts, or in Middleboro for that matter?

My husband and I are planning a trip to D.C and we are planning to use the metro for travel. Neither of us have ever used a metro system as we are from a small town. Will the system be easy for us to use while we are there?

Any suggestions or tips will be helpful. Thank You!

Oh- just some extra info: We are staying with family in Gainesville, VA and we are planning to visit the city most days.

I am maried with one child and lived in NYC all my life. Which is ok yet becoming very expensive, very quickly. My child is 13 y.o. and i'm looking to start a new life where my son can see another way of life besides Brooklyn NY. I've considered Upstate NY, CT, MD and GA. Yet i am open to suggestions and if possible please provide websites for research purposes. School's,cost of living, employment and crime rates important. Thanx!

Three people are going to Sacramento. One mom, one aunt, and one 11 year old girl. What are nice places (not overpriced) that they could go to? For example: a kind of shopping mall or museum would be nice. or even some kind of visiting place to go to. (they've asked me to research for them!)

Is PHX the best airport to take?
What is there to do? I've heard about
the hiking trails and it's mostly what I
want to see. Are there cabin lodges or
just plain old hotels?

Im thinking of going to Saint Rose in albany, i live near boston and i now how great of a college city Boston is. I get the feeling that Albany is pretty dull for a college student. Is there nightlife, like clubs, not just bars but clubs like in Boston. Are there a lot of concerts. Is it a nice city or more run down, with some movie theaters and a few resturants? I also am not that big of a winter person and im guessing its pretty bad in the winter, will i absolutly hate it there or do you think there is enought to keep me occupied since Saint rose isnt that big of a school?

also anything you can tell me about the city would be great.

As the title suggests, my wife and I are newly married. I am relocating to Boston in a month or so from Charleston, SC. I will be working close to the Courthouse (near South Station).

From what I can make out word of mouth is the best way to find a place in Boston. I have only been to Boston once for the interview so really need some help and advice from you experts in here.

Which areas are most suitable for someone like me and my wife? Don't really care about schools ... Care most about Access to downtown Boston, the safety of the area, and, the cost of living. I am hoping to keep the rent of the apartment ~1300/mo.

Given that my wife and I are recent grads... we don't mind living in a student area as long as the apartments are in decent/good condition. Don't mind living in a suburb that has good access to DT Boston either as I have a car and don't mind getting dropped off at the nearest station.

I am looking to rent an apartment (1br/1bath ... upgrade to 2br if possible). I don't

A city in which I loved growing up as a kid has turned into a "cesspool". (My only theory is the illegals & the Hurricane Katrina refugees)

IF you're an 80's kid in Houston: you KNOW what I'm talking about. Astroworld/Waterworld: gone
Richmond Strip: gone

The city has basically IMO turned into a ghetto with the exception of the River Oaks, Memorial, Clear Lake, Tanglewood & Woodlands area: which isn't really "H- Town". I HATE that nickname. I know y'all are going to say "MOVE" & believe you me : I am working on it.
