Take the downtown 1 train to the South Ferry stop. Make sure you are in one of the first five cars.

15-20 minutes.

you can do either one of the following:

take the shuttle train at times square to grand central. At grand central, take either the downtown 4 or 5 train to bowling green (which leaves you at battery park). time about 20 to 30 minutes

take the 2 or 3 train downtown to chambers street. go across the platform to take the downtown 1 train to the last stop, which is south ferry (you must be in the 1st 5 cars). This will leave you by the staten island ferry which is right next to battery park. about 20 to 30 minutes

Downtown 1 train to South Ferry (you MUST be in one of the first five cars to exit at South Ferry though). It takes about 30 minutes or so.

Jro, you'd be waiting for a very long time for a 9 train since it hasn't run since 2005.

Also you could take a downtown N,R or W train to Whitehall Street.

Also giving the link to hopstop.com is stupid. If you're a New Yorker you don't need to use hopstop.com.

Take the 1 or 9 Train. I would say it will take you about 20 minutes.
