About 45 minutes, but I would give myself at least an hour.
The quickest route is take Highland south until it merges with La Brea. Then take La Brea south to Stocker. Make a right on Stocker and to La Cienega. Take La Cienega south to La Tijera. Go west on La Tijera to Sepulveda. Make a right on Sepulveda and into the airport.
DO NOT TAKE THE 405!! I would advise against taking any freeway from there, but definitely do not take the 405. In fact, disregard Faded Funks directions. If you can get to LAX in under 1 hour going his route, on any day at 4 pm without driving on the sidewalk, I'll buy your airline ticket

I will make this as simple as possible assuming you are a tourista....Highland south to Santa Monica Blvd, take right, go to La Cienega take a left (just past the bend in Santa Monica Blvd). This road takes you almost all the way to the airport.--
near airport area, take right on Flight Avenue (La Tijera), this will run right into Sepulveda (you can see the planes from there), then into the airport..some of the other ways are just too complicated for tourists....I know because all the tourists stay at my house..Good Luck...I think the point is if there is an accident on the 405 you are screwed...

Saturday around 4 pm should take about 20 minutes.. Traffic should be fine... You can take Hollywood Way West all the way to the 405 South...

I think it would take about 45 mins to 1 hr. Depending on traffic. Sometimes Saturdays are unpredictable. But I'm sure the 405 freeway is always bad. It's okay to take this freeway in the evening or early morning. But you can take your chances like I did. I was sorry, but who knows. Good luck.
