I am maried with one child and lived in NYC all my life. Which is ok yet becoming very expensive, very quickly. My child is 13 y.o. and i'm looking to start a new life where my son can see another way of life besides Brooklyn NY. I've considered Upstate NY, CT, MD and GA. Yet i am open to suggestions and if possible please provide websites for research purposes. School's,cost of living, employment and crime rates important. Thanx!

Sacramento, Ca. It is known as the best place to raise children. It has ambiance, beautiful neighborhoods, the most integrated city in the US, clean stores, great amenities (do a search for Sacramento on Yahoo! Answers and you should come up with at least one of my long lists of them.) Sacramento has gone through a big renovation boom for more than 20 years, and is 2 hours (give or take an hour) from all kinds of entertainment. I allow email, found in my profile, if you would like to ask other questions.

Virginia is a beautiful state that has much to offer. Nothern Virgina and the Washington DC area is going to be much like NYC but to the western part of the state is the Shenandoah Valley which is absolutely wonderful. Beautiful mountains, great schools, and low crime rates. Charlottesville, home of the University of Virgina, is a great city to live in. Lots of culture and a decent sized city. If you are looking for something a little smaller, Staunton, which is considered the Queen City of the Valley, is much smaller but very quaint and has a lot of historic things to offer. However, if mountains are not your thing then tidewater Virginia is also a great option. Virginia Beach, Norfolk, and Portsmouth are great cities in the tidewater area. The crime rate is a little higher but the city is still nice.
