My family and I will be moving to Fort Collins in summer of 2008. My daughter will be three then. My husband, my step-son and I are mostly Caucasian, but we look 100% white :) My daughter is 1/2 Mexican, but looks 100% Mexican. In the area we live now (rural southern community) there is a great deal of bad sentiment towards Hispanics, specifically Mexicans. Many times we have gone places, my daughter has recieved dirty looks and/or comments. Not saying everyone here feels badly towards Hispanics, but there are quite a few. I am hoping since Hispanics have a long history in Colorado that sentiment towards them there would be better than here. Which leads me to my questions.
How are Hispanics (specifically Mexicans) thought of in the Fort Collins/Denver Area?
Is it very usual to see a white mother with a Hispanic looking child in the Fort Collins/Denver Area?
Do you think my child will be looked at as "different" there as she is here?

I have applied 3 weeks ago for USA Spouse visa. My husband is american and we have lived together in UK for 2 years. After 3 weeks I received a letter from USA confirming that they have received the payment and they gave us my case number. The petition has still not been approved, because apprently it takes more time to approve the petition.

My husband says because they have already sent us a confirmation of the payment after 3 weeks, it's a good sign meaning that the process is gonna be quick. But I don't think that means anything, because when the petition is approved, it means that the process has begun.

What do you think? Do you have any idea how long it takes to get the green card? I am considering 1 year to 1.5 years , is that normal? Do you have experience? Any suggestions welcome!

Anyone know how to get them at more than a tiny little discount? I have been searching the web for days and these so called discounts are a joke ... $5 off gate price ... sort of insulting when the beginning price is a few hundred and then some(lol). I know the world goes on supply and demand and these are definitely in demand but...... Im not rich and I know there are REAL discounts hiding out there!!!!!

We can fly Southwest nonstop into Ft. Lauderdale, rent a car, and drive to Key West for about $400. Or, we can spend over $800 (for a flight that makes 2 stops) to fly directly to the Key West.

Is the drive very bad? Is avoiding this drive worth airline tickets that are twice as much?

If so, when did they start to come out?

I'm in Fort Worth, TX and it has just begun to get warm and spring like, but the leaves still have not started to bud or come out yet. I was wondering if they've started to bud in San Antonio or Austin. (or even farther south like Corpus Christi or Brownsville) Last year the trees started to come out around March 1st here in DFW. My husband and I are going to Disney World in 11 days. We are staying at the Disney All Star Movie Resort. Can we go to other resorts and visit them just to take a look around? Can we eat at the other resorts? What is your favorite park? We are seeing all 4 parks. We will be there 8 days so we will have plenty of time to see them all. Any suggestions on some great restaurants that won't cost us a years pay? Counter service is fine too. This is our 4th time to WDW but our first for staying on the resort. Any advice would be great.
