My husband and I are going to Disney World in 11 days. We are staying at the Disney All Star Movie Resort. Can we go to other resorts and visit them just to take a look around? Can we eat at the other resorts? What is your favorite park? We are seeing all 4 parks. We will be there 8 days so we will have plenty of time to see them all. Any suggestions on some great restaurants that won't cost us a years pay? Counter service is fine too. This is our 4th time to WDW but our first for staying on the resort. Any advice would be great.

You are going to have such a great time. Staying onsite, it so nice and convenient. To answer your questions:

Other resorts: You can visit all the resorts, a lot of people do this and some people make it a whole day. The resorts are beautiful and offer so much, they are fun to see. One thing though, if you don't have your own car, it can be a little tricky getting to other resorts. You will need to go to another park or Downtown Disney, then you go to the bus stop there for the resort you are wanting to visit. It takes a little extra time, but that is the only way to get around to the other resorts. You use the monorail to get to the other resorts with Grand Floridian, Contemporary and Polynesian, usually the fastest way to look around. Also, some of the resorts you can take a boat to get to the others.

Eating at the other resorts: You can also eat at the resorts, there are so many options and great places. I highly recommend Beaches and Cream at Yacht and Beach Club, it is a ton of food and the price is not bad at all. There are a lot of great options to choose from at the resorts, and you will find some of the best options at the resorts.

Favorite park: I like EPCOT the most, I think. Magic Kingdom is a great park as well. Really, I like them all, they each have a ride, or more, that I love. But EPCOT has several of my favorites, Test Track, Mission Space, Soarin', etc. They also have World Showcase, again, some of my favorite food. I try to spend time at all the parks, but tend to spend the most time at Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. You have a good amount of time at the parks, so that will be nice. Two days at each park should be plenty, EPCOT and Magic Kingdom are the largest, MGM and Animal Kingdom are a little smaller, so you may spend more time at the other two.

Dining: There are a ton of great options of where to eat. Again, the resorts have some great choices, as does EPCOT. I can't remember the deadline to add on the dining plan, but I believe you still have time, you may want to look into it. It is a great deal, one of the biggest benefits to staying onsite. It is $38.99 for each adult, each day, and is well worth the money. You get one snack, one counter-service and one table-service per day. It also includes your 19% tip. Most people save 40% off of their dining and you get to eat at some of the nicest restaurants on property.

For the better budget restaurants, some of my favorite are: Beaches and Cream, as I mentioned, La Cantina De San Angel and Liberty Inn in EPCOT. Also, Le Celliers is a great place to eat, it can be a little expensive, but would be a nice option for something a little more special. Liberty Tree at Magic Kingdom. Sci Fi Dine-In Theater in MGM. Tusker House at Animal Kingdom is great because it is only $10 or so per person, but they have more options than just hamburgers. Flame Tree Barbecue is also good at Animal Kingdom. Wolfgang Puck Express and Earl of Sandwich in Downtown Disney. If you are looking for something a little sweeter, the Candy Cauldron and Ghirardelli in Downtown Disney are also great.

There are so many great options on where to eat, it is hard to list them all. I don't really think there is a bad choice for food, it's just some are a little better than others. I've included a link that may be of use for you, it has info on the dining in each park, resort, etc. as well as what kind of food they serve and the price. The second link is also great, you will find menus and everything there.

Have a great time!

You can absolutely go to the other resorts to look around. You can definitely eat at any of the resorts. The sit down restaurants at the resorts require priority seating arrangements most of the time. My favorite park is EPCOT. You can easily spend 2 days exploring EPCOT and not see everything.

The phone number for dining arrangements is 407-WDW-DINE.

My VERY favorite restaurant on all of WDW property is the Biergarten in Germany at EPCOT. It is a German buffet with a dance floor and a polka band for entertainment. It's less expensive to go for lunch--and they still have the show at lunch.

Most of the counter service places will have the same kind of chicken-strip/french fry fare; however, there are a couple of exceptions. Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe at the Magic Kingdom in Tomorrowland once had claim to being the largest fast food restaurant in the world. There are three different counters with a variety of chicken, burger, salad, sandwich and soup dishes. Also in the Magic Kingdom--if you're looking for a good sandwich--is The Columbia Harbor House. It is in Liberty Square. At EPCOT in The Land pavilion, they have a new food court that has healthy eating options--all of the vegetables served there are grown in the greenhouse there.

Have fun on your trip!

You are free to explore and dine at all of Walt Disney World including the resorts. My favorite park is Epcot but I happened to work at WDW for several years and had the opportunity to visit every park many times and find my favorite things. The food has gotten so much better in the past 10 years with all types and all price ranges. The front desk or concierge at your hotel or any hotel for that matter can give you suggestions of the best places to dine for you. The brochures have a ton of information with descriptions. There is transportation to all the parks from all of the resorts so getting around will be a breeze. Depending on the time of year you are going you can expect varying weather unless it is in the summer then you can expect hot, humid and thunder storms in the middle of the day. Epcot has the best food choices in my opinion because it contains many different countries' cuisines. Have a great trip! We are looking forward to taking our child this year!

WOW, I HAVE PERFECT TIMING. I GUESS I'LL ANSWER IN ORDER.

I stayed at the All-Star Sports resort during this summer, which is right next to the All-Star Movie resort, so I think I'm what you'd call an expert on this sort of stuff (haha)

"Can we got to other resorts and visit them just to take a look around"

Yes, you can. Though we stayed at the SPORTS resort, we also got to take a look around at the MOVIE and MUSIC resorts. I can tell you what, you're in for a real treat. THE MOVIE RESORT IS FANTASTIC! It is so amazing, just because they have photos of all of these old-time and current actors (i.e. John Wayne, Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, etc.) In addition, many of these photos are signed, so they are very interesting to look at. There are also big in-ground swimming pools with fountains in the middle, that are at a beautifully perfect temperature. At the SPORTS resort, if you go there, is the a small-size, artificial turf football field, which is a great spot for photos and horsing around. Make sure to jot that down on your TO-DO LIST.

"What is your favorite park?"

My favorite park is, of course, Magic Kingdom, because of its unique history, and because it is the first park created by the Walt himself. This park is the best, because it has so many unforgettable features.

I mean, there's Cinderella's castle, the three Mountains (Big Thunder, Splash, and Space Mountains), the would-famous Pirates of the Caribbean ride, etc.

Magic Kingdom is a great park, but I'm assuming that you will go there no matter what. A great choice though is the BLIZZARD BEACH waterpark, weather permitting. We went to Blizzard Beach for a day and I had the time of my life! GREAT WATERSLIDES, especially Summit Plummet, and huge, gigantic, humoungous, monster of a slide, falling over 100 feet at a 90.0000001 degree angle, without any safety harness/tube. They even clock your speed. Mine? 60+ MPH free-falling on a slippery slide. THE BEST SLIDE EVER! You gotta go to Blizzard Beach.

"Great restaurants that won't cost us a year's pay?"

Actually, the restaurants AT the actual resorts are very good. You can get all sorts of breakfasts, lunches, and dinners there (the chicken fingers are excellent, lol!). The restaurants are very cheap (by Disney standards), and you will have a great time in the awesome atmosphere. It is great fun!

- ADVICE

* At the resort restaurant, buy the refillable cup. I got about 30 drinks in that 5-day span, and it was well worth the money! In addition, I even got a FREE second cup, because the cup on the first one was cracked. HINT: Check for any faults on the original cup, and you could get two for the price of one!

* Don't go on the Tower of Terror after downing an icecream cone (Self-Explanatory)

* Go in the pool until the latest possible. The pool gets much less crowded of the billions of children running around, and you may actually find it very romantic.

* NOTE: When you first turn on the TV, you will see a girl riding the TOP TEN DISNEY WORLD THEME PARK RIDES. Warning: Do Not Watch! This girl, whatever her name was, will be broadcasted all over the park, especially at the bus stops. Therefore, when you are bored waiting for the bus, you can always watch her ride the rides. I had the unfortunate displeasure of watching this lady ride the rides over a dozen times. NOT FUN!

* Go see the fireworks at Magic Kingdom. You don't need a ticket into the Kingdom if you haven't been there that day. Just hop on the trolley as it is going towards Magic Kingdom, and you will watch the fireworks from slightly afar, with the cool bay breeze blowing at your face. It is a much better view than if you are in the actual park, and it is EXTREMELY ROMANTIC. You also should see it from inside the park as well, so you are able to hear the audio that goes with the show.

HOPE ALL OF THIS (it tooks me ten minutes to write down) HELPS YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND HAVE THE GREATEST DISNEY EXPERIENCE EVER!

1. You can go to the other resorts to check them out, but I don't think you can look in the rooms.
2. You are allowed to eat at any other resort. You're staying at the All-Star Movies, so say you wanted to go on over to the Grand Floridian to eat at one of their restaurants. You could.
3. My favorite park is the Magic Kingdom.
4. Most of the restaurants cost a lot, so I'm not really sure of the cheapest ones, but they don't cost a year's pay. If you want to have fun at a restaurant, I would definitely recommend Cinderella's Royal Table. To get a seat at most of the restaurants, you have to make a reservation with Disney Dining. There is a number that you can call. It's on the Disney World website. You can check out everything at http://www.waltdisneyworld.com ! If you want to check out the dining at the website, on the bottom of every restaurant's page it gives you a price range of how much the meal will cost per person. Hope this helps! Have fun!

Good choice of hotels. Yes you can go from one to the other to check it out, eat, whatever. As far as restaurants, I would suggest Artist point for a bit fancy or actually the food court at the resort for a bit more relaxed.
