Basically, it is money, but just made "cute" for Disney. The money is really nice, has great pictures, art, a little sparkle, etc.

You can buy the Disney Dollars are the Disney Store, or you can buy it at Disney.

It works just like a gift certificate, that you would buy for a store, and you can only use it at Disney. I believe they will give you cash back, but only to a certain amount, so ask first.

They make really cute gifts for Disney fans or someone going to Disney. It doesn't cost any extra to get the money like that, so a lot of people like because of how it looks and kids love it. They make good souvenirs as well.

Have a great time!

Here is a site that might help you find some of your answers. A lot of people get Disney Dollars for souvenirs or gifts. They work just like money, but can only be used at Disney- Disney World, DisneyLand, Disney Cruise Line, or Disney Stores.

Disney dollars have the same face value as normal dollars but you can only spend them in Disney. they're great for children as they have Disney pictures all over them so they're a novelty. I brought some home with me as souvenirs (one dollar bills). I bought mine in Disney, I don't know if you can buy them before hand, maybe try a Disney store if you have one near you, especially if you are taking children as you can give them money to take with them. I love Disney World, hope you have a great time x

Disney dollars are a form of corporate scrip or tokens used at Disney theme parks, The Disney Store and at certain parts of Castaway Cay, the Disney cruise-line's private island. Most of them bear the image of Mickey Mouse or a drawing of one of the landmarks of Disneyland or Walt Disney World Resort. Two small monochrome reproductions of Tinkerbell float to the sides. There is sometimes the signature of the Treasurer, Scrooge McDuck.

The dollars come in one, five dollar denominations from 1987 to 1989 and in 1990 they also added the ten dollar bill to the list, and are redeemable for goods or services at the theme parks, the Disney cruise ships, their Castaway Cay port of call and the Disney stores, unless indications to the contrary are printed on the individual bills. Also, they can simply be exchanged back to U.S. currency. They were first issued in 1987 and are collected by Disney memorabilia fans. Special editions are sometimes sold to Disney Cast Members as a form of incentive.

Disney dollars come in A dollars and D dollars. The former created for Disneyland in Anaheim, California (hence the A), and the latter D for Walt DisneyWorld in Florida. Since 2005 they also have T dollars (for The Disney stores).

New Disney dollars have been produced every year since 1987 except 1992, 2004 and 2006.

In 2005 only, Disneyland (A) and DisneyWorld (D) released a $50 bill for A & D) "and" they also produced a different looking special edition $50 Disneyland (B) (qty=1500) and DisneyWorld (D)(qty=500) that were designed by Mr. Boyer, (Mr Boyer personally signed a select amount of these bills) for Disneyland's 50th Anniversary Celebration). Disney dollars are exchanged on a one for one basis with US currency - one Disney dollar for each dollar tendered. Disney dollars can be 'purchased' using non-currency methods such as credit and debit cards. The Disney dollar program is a source of revenue for the Walt Disney Company. The company assumes that a certain number of Disney dollars will never be redeemed. The idea is that individuals will fail to realize that Disney dollars have a real value and should be treated as cash. The assumption is that the Disney dollars will be thrown away, kept as souveniers or forgotten.

They can be purchased online at disney.com or at the parks! These are great for kids - give them a few and let them use the Disney Dollars as their spending money while on vacation!
