I was planing a trip to California for this Feb. I goin 5 days to S. Francisco and 4 to LA, but some people tell me It´s not a good idea waste 4 day in LA.... I was thinking in Santa Barbara (how long is in car?) or going 2 day to las Vegas... It`s my first time in the west cost and I live in Ecuador.. so I don`t like waste my time...I need a clue for spend this 4 day in a good way...

A friend and i are planning a quick extended weekend trip to New Orleans in March staying downtown. We've been there pre-Katrina and have always stayed downtown/french quarter and WALKED everywhere. All I've heard about is the recent crime spree but I'm not sure in what areas of the city, my question is if it is still safe/recommended to be able to stay downtown and still walk everywhere we want to go (mostly riverwalk, french quarter ... that kind of stuff)? I'm sure its fine during the day but what about late at night?

So in late Feb. I'm going with my girlfriend for her 21st bday to vegas...of course we're going clubbing. However, the group is pretty different in ages (her friends, her mom, and her mom's friends). Night club with dancing on the strip is definitely in as everyone likes dancing. However we got 2-4 people in the 21-25 year old range, and then another 4 people in the 35-40 year old range. I mean I was debating places like Light, Tangerine, Pure, etc. but i'm worried it'll be only cosisting of people in there 20s and half the party may not enjoy it there, or may be given bad vibes etc. is this the case, any suggestions? those VIP ticket booklets worth it or a scam?

If you had only three days in New York City, what would you do? My mom and I already plan on seeing the World Trade Center site, Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, a taping of the new Rachael Ray show, and a broadway play. What else do you recommend? Thanks!
