Sonora, California. It is in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. It's a wonderful mountain community with the Bay Area just 2 hours away, Sacramento about an hour and Modesto about an hour away. You have Dodge Ridge Ski Resort about 20 minutes and plenty of camping and hunting farther up Hwy. 108 towards Kennedy Meadows.
Sonora, Jamestown and Columbia have alot of history during the gold rush.
