how come sometimes the flags are up half way the pole? is there a meaning to it?

I have a chance to live in my home town Colombia Medellin forever. that means beautiful women perfect weather good food and ill be with my big old family over there but that means ill leave behind white sox bears navi pear and all that good jaz this country offers also ill leave behind a big part of my family including three brothers and a hole lot of memorys

A few questions...

Flying from the Northeast (from either New York, Bradley in CT, or Boston) to Portland, Oregon, what would the best bet be for an airline? Looking for combination of lowest fare, best service, and shortest flight time? Average cost of a round trip?

Are there non-stop flights? How long on average time in plane?

How about from PDX (Portland) to BDL (Bradley)? Time? Cost for round trip?

Just fishing for some info here... Looking to visit my fiancee or vice-versa sometime in the future..

We are going to Hawaii with my 2 year old. Am I really going to need a stroller? I have a backpack-like harness. You can't use a stroller on the beach and where else will you really need one??

I'm getting an airline job at SEA-TAC and I'm looking at where would be a good place to move to. I heard it rains alot in WA compared to the sunny days in CA that I'm used too. I was raised in a small town, but love the city. I want to be able to feel safe and like it where I'm moving. I would also like to know what kind of things there are to do out there. I am looking to relocate anywhere. I am looking for a city o a great small town near the city 20 mins or so. Population of 100,00 or less in the city. I love water and also mountains. I like to hike,skateboard,going to sporting events (pro). I also like history,national parks and basically anything outside. Also would like to find price range of apartment's from 600 to 850 a month,basically i just want to live somewhere where there is something to do all the time. i am single with no kids and just want to enjoy life and see some other parts of the USA. I am in the automotive business and currently work for Ford as a technican..any imput would be greatly appreciated!

I am from north east PA and a friend from school who lives in California is coming for a visit. She wants to visit Philly but does not want to see the normal torist spots.I know a few but I wanted to know what are some of the locals favorites. My husband and I have grown up in north Idaho. We are looking for a little change after completeing school. We have two children (2 boys ages 3 and 6 months) We were thinking of moving somewhere around seattle however we do not know a lot about anything (DAYCARE IS A BIG ONE, schools, employment, renting) I was wondering if anyone knows of a good out laying city to seattle to raise there children in that we could also financialy survive in. Next year we will expand the casino with a 5 Star Hotel.
