Is it wise for a woman to travel alone on vacation? Have any of you gals out there done that recently?

I wanna go to New England (and abroad fairly soon too). It's not as fun as with someone. But is travelling alone worth it at all?

I'm flying to Orlando, Florida next week - what do you suggest I pack in my luggage?

Besides clothes, cameras and travel documents - I really have no idea what else...

PS: I heard that I can't bring liquids, anything under pressure or sharp objects like shaving razors, etc. etc.

Can anyone write me a list of what to bring? I'm totally clueless!
