I have lived in Florida for ten years, and I can tell you, unless you're planning to go to Jacksonville or some other North Florida city, that is a really bad idea. Besides being hurricane season, the humidity is horrible in August-November. Unless you're used to it, you'll hate it!

I went there on vacation for 10 days this summer. I live in Southern California and the major difference in weather is the humidity! It might not be as hot in Florida as it is here, but it feels like it is hotter. Also there is periodically sudden thunderstorms that come in and last for a few hours. It's a great place to go even with it being so humid tho.

I first went in September and it was ok. Last year we went in October and still had a brief patch ( one morning ) of hurricanes. so you can't really pick and choose when to avoid a hurricane.

No matter what, just don't let the weather ruin your holiday. We went shopping to Florida mall as it all undercover or you could go to Disney Quest in Downtown disney.

Anyway have a great time.

I was there in September of last year, and I am going again in 11 days! It was still quite warm. There was a hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico so we had a few cloudy days. One day it rained heavily for about an hour. Other than that it was great! (that is why I am going at the same time this year!)

The crowds at the theme parks were very reasonable. (Yes you still had some lines, but nothing like they are in July!)

Hurricane season is from June 1st through November 30th.
The summer months of June, July, August and even into September are the rainiest months of the year. During this period thunderstorms are common.

Hurricane season is june. I went in may last year and we got there just before the hurricane season. My uncle went in september and said it was much hotter, and it was hot when we went in may as it got up to 40 degrees on some days.
