Is it better to exchange at the airport when I arrive? Or should I get the exchange done here in the US before I leave? Is it better to use a retail store (IE - Travelex) or a bank in the US?

A few days back, I was talking to my Taiwanese friend. We were discussing the rise of gas prices and he said "It is because of the chinese in China. There are so many cars and they need gas".

I was shocked that he would make such accusation. What do you think?

Any experiences, good or bad are helpful.
If some place has dual providers for backup reliability, let me know because that would be the best.

Any inputs on tourism, employments, ecomony, Heng Seng Index, etc..........will the country be better, worse or the same? What about the food and toys quality?

I'm an atheist, but I will celebrate Christmas with my family and friends. Our house will be like the United Nations tonight: my family -mix of Italian, Spanish, Inuit, French-, and friends from Chinese, Japanese, Filipinos, American Indians, Dutch...I wish all my YA virtual friends in this section -bkk included- all the best, whether you celebrate Christmas or not. We form a virtual community, we never meet each other in real life, but I believe we can all together create a better world by sharing and understanding each other...

Merry Christmas, Eid, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa,a non-Christian or Pagan celebration of the winter solstice, or whatever your beliefs tell you to do...

Peace out!

Chinese people often ask me this question. I'm an American living and working in China. I say because I want to learn to sing and learn the meaning of love and how it affects the earth. These are the real reasons I came here. Why did you come?

what do you think of the urban renewal scheme to redo the whole street? I think the government is wasting their money. Sai yeung choi street is good the way it is, people like it because it is uniqe and all the little shops clustered together make for an interesting place for shopping. Also, the smaller shops can give better prices for most customers.

If they make it into a mall, the street will lose it's character and appeal, it will be no different from all the other malls around the world.
