You can book a one way ticket , however, your timeline of staying there is limited of course.............you just have to buy a return ticket before your stay timeline expires.

You can certainly enter China on a one-way ticket but your visa will set the duration and purpose of your stay. If you stay after the expiry of your visa or do something you are not allowed to do (like working, studying or conducting business with a tourist visa), you are in big trouble and you could be deported back to where you come from Once this happens, your chances of obtaining another visa to visit China again are slim to none.

It depends on the visa you need. For example, for my 60 day tourist visa I 'needed' a return flight but no-one actually checked I had one. Your situation is very much different and I would try and sort it out now if I were you. How near is your Chinese embassy? Try and contact them and see what they have to say. I'd try and do it on the legal side because I'd hate to get into trouble in China :S

You have to read into what your visa says and I think you should be able to buy a one-way ticket to Beijing. I don't see why not.
