Snake is consumed in many parts of the world. In Southern China and especially Taiwan, it is used both for its gastronomical and medicinal properties. You can buy live snakes in some local markets, especially in Guangdong and Yunnan prov. You can even find frozen snake meat in the frozen section of some supermarkets there. You can also find some snake wine made with the meat, distilled high proof liquor.
By the way, it bothers me when some people make ridiculous remarks about one culture or another eating animals that are not commonly eaten in their own culture (see one of the answers above). It simply shows ignorance and complete lack or respect and understanding.

Never.And im a chinese,and Iv never seen a dish of snake from the menu actually.At least in the north.

What do snakes eat? Rats, mice....so why? Is chicken, pork and fish that scarce? I do not care if it is in China or Texas, snake is not my idea of food!

I was made to eat bees and it wasn't bad. Very crispy. As for snake I don't know yet. I already passed on scorpions and cockroaches.

no never. no offence but i never wanna go there. i cant stand some of those people who eat cute dogs and cats even snakes. they are heartless. some dont even care. but not all the people do that i know. some are awesome people! but still. and no. i would not order snakes. fyi im a vegetarian. lol.
