Who likes the Octopus card in Hong Kong? When I was in HK, I mostly used it for Bus and MTR. Although riding the bus is alot cheaper! I know some people also use it at Seven Eleven. Too bad I lost it after I came back to Canada!!

Hello,

I found a internship opportunity in Hong Kong for a year.
My salary will be 7000HKD, and the firm found me a room to rent for around 2100 HKD (I don't know if people in HongKong pay taxes for water, electricty, apartmant fees or is it included??)
So apart from that, do you think that I could manage to live there with that amount of money? or is it too low?
As far as I heard, 3000 HKD would be enough for one months food costs,
so except my rent and food, I will have 1900 HKD for living, for taxes (if there are any) and for social stuff..

what do you think??

I have made a friend in China, I love the country because of the food, Art, Style. I would really really love to go there on day but I’m a little bit sceptical, mainly because I don’t know if they accept black people into their country/culture....

I'm thinking about spending a couple of months in China in my gap year, it's an opportunity i've found where I get 4 weeks worth of learning Mandarin and then teaching English in a school for a further 8 weeks.
Has anybody been there and what's it like to be there for an extended amount of time?
Any advice?
