Who likes the Octopus card in Hong Kong? When I was in HK, I mostly used it for Bus and MTR. Although riding the bus is alot cheaper! I know some people also use it at Seven Eleven. Too bad I lost it after I came back to Canada!!

I LOVE the octopus card because its soooo convenient! You can take the bus or the MTR and, you can buy stuff at stores like you said 7-11 and you can even eat breakfast with that thing. I think its a great thing to bring around. ><

Yes, I like Octopus Card. It's very convenient and handy, without having to prepare spare changes just for the public transport, especially for the buses. I also used it before to buy drinks at its vending machines and its really fun. Now here in Singapore, there is also the same version of card, called the ezlink card, but compared to the Octopus card, its has long way to go to reach its usage of the card to outside the public transport. (I do use ezlink card here in Singapore for purchase extra value meal in Singapore).

I take Airport Express with Octopus Card too, I enter my office with Octopus Card (to pass the security sensor), so it is always with me!

Yes, you should get a card for yourself and for each child. It really is a convenient way to travel. When my children were younger, I would let them scan their cards themselves and then they would hand them to me while on the MTR itself. I would then hand them back to the kids to scan them as they exited the station. If you don't want them to be doing that, then you can get a lanyard/necklace card holder that they can hang around their neck. They can scan the card without taking the lanyard off and without having to take the card of the card holder.

well yes. i like using the Octopus Card for MTR. i dont really like the busses but i like to take the taxi. good times. now since im back to USA i want to go back. ive been there for quit a while.

Octopus Card is awesome! it's so convenient. I used it everywhere, transportation, mcdonald's, grocery stores. you name it.
