Not likely. China is now experiencing a boom in industry just as India is in high tech services. The thing is in India they have spoken English for many years due to it being a British Commonwealth. In China they speak English as well. There fore they do business of many types world wide easily.
People forget that the cheap labor force that is now available will change. As the Chinese standard of living increases so will the amount of pay and the price of their products. Certain human rights for workers that we expect in the US are not in force in China. But as the standard raises the people of China will demand them. Many of the things the US has already gone through in the 1900-1960's will begin to happen at a quicker rate to China. Remember it wasn't too long ago we got cheap stuff from Japan. You drove a Toyota or Honda because it was cheap. Today many are made in the US because it cost less to make it here. The parts are from all over Japan China Korea and Germany. Today we drive a Lexus as a status symbol of luxury and comfort.

People tend to have a very short term vision of the world. Like it or not it is a global economy and there is nothing you or I can do to stop it. The internet has made it possible to do business anywhere and everywhere with anyone. And to do it quickly. Life has changed and those that do not change and learn how to work in this change are going to suffer.
China won't be like the US but it will have it's own economy. The fact 3 Billion people live there versus 300 million people in the USA means they have a lot of problems to deal with and a huge work force.
Lets put it like this you are trying to get away in a race or you are being pursued. If you are in a sports car or a motor cycle you will be able to get away faster and make changes quickly.
If you are driving an 18 wheeler or a bus or RV you can't react quickly. It takes a lot to steer the big vehicle or big ship. It's harder in China to make changes and to steer the economy there. The USA can adapt faster then a country with 3 billion people. By the same token you don't have to steer an 18 wheeler you can just run stuff over. Still that kind of reaction always leads to disaster for all. Like the Titanic that couldn't turn fast enough to avoid the ice berg China has the same problem and will have to deal with it in the next ten years.
The US has the problem of an aging demographics as the Baby boomer's hit their 60's and 70's. The population will decrease and the younger people who work will be in the minority. We also have to deal with education. As it stand now people like Google are hiring from Asia because they are not getting the quality people they need from the USA.
That aside don't worry .... We will probably all be wiped out by global warming. Like Lemmings running over a cliff, we are not moving quick enough to correct it. We keep driving SUV's and gas guzzlers. China is doing little for pollution clean up. Neither is the US.

Physically--I highly doubt it.

Financially--it is slowly happening. America likes to sit on its laurels and is not proactive, but rather reactive. China's economy is slowly surpassing that of America's and soon it will overtake the US. The US needs to rethink its economic policies and depends way too much on exports and outsourcing. In addition, the younger generation does not have any practical skills. We are well-educated, but can't get further than that.

I won't say never, but no time soon. They still have only a brownwater navy and insufficient Air Force to get enough troops for the invasion.
Besides, didn't one of the Japanese generals in WWII say that you cannot invade the US because there would be a gun behind every blade of grass?
China is doing fine with its slow economic takeover.

China already has a strangle-hold on consumer purchases and they are now in the process of a powerful military build-up using our dollars that we spent at Wal-Mart. Correct me if I'm wrong, they ALREADY have the largest military in the world.

Think about it when you go Christmas shopping. They can shoot satellites out of orbit now.

No I don't think so, it will either be the either world stopping America's reign of terrible error, or America stomping out the rest of the world and then crashes in on itself.
