I'd like to take my family to the Gatlinburg area during the week of Thanksgiving, as this is the only time the kids are out of school long enough to travel. This is pretty spur of the moment and I haven't made any hotel reservations. Will I have problems finding a room in the area? I'll accept a room in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Cherokee, even Sevierville if necessary. Does the Smokies area generally have large crowds during Thanksgiving?

There are three words in the English language that end in "-gry." Two words that end in "-gry" are "hungry" and "angry." Everyone knows what the third word means, and everyone uses them every day. If you listened very carefully, I have already stated to you what the third word is. What are the three words that solve this riddle?

I was wondering whereabouts in Brisbane do the young professional crowd hang out? The same as there are student bars, backpacker bars, where are the "lawyer bars", the "doctor bars", where do rich singles go for a few drinks?
Thanks for your answers.

I just went in the Spain section. The questions were about restaurants, taxi fares, travel safety, etc. This is how the Greek section used to be when I first joined: I used to answer about hotels, islands, monuments and culture. Many of us became friends and shared personal issues, during that time, and it was an enjoyable site. From some point onwards, it became a place where people insult others for national reasons and some time after that it became the place to insult for no reason at all, and do their best to erase innocent questions. Can you identify the moment this happened?

What are some good places to shop etc?

I'm not going as a tourist so I don't want to climb the bridge or see an opera or anything like that?

I just moved to Japan and i sometimes hear sirens coming from the streets. It's not police or ambulance sirens. It reminds me of the bomb sirens that they show you in the old movies. I want to know what these sirens are for? This is my second time hearing it and the last time I heard it at night too.

I am going to list my favorite four, but you may have others.

1. Boeing 247, 1933. First modern airliner, with low wing, two engines, and fully enclosed cabin. Carried ten passengers.

2. Douglas DC-3, 1935. First truly practical airliner that could pay for itself hauling passengers alone. Early versions carried 21 passengers, but later models carried up to 28.

3. Lockheed Constellation, 1945. First practical long-range pressurized airliner, and first airliner with true transatlantic capability. Led the way to other pressurize long-range prop airplanes, such as the DC-6, DC-7, and Stratocruiser.

4. Boeing 707, 1957. First truly successful jet airliner to enter regular service in both transatlantic and domestic service. Led to one of the most successful airliner families in airline history.

You might have other favorites that belong on this list as much as these four. Please share them and tell why they were important.

Planning a bachelor party and wanting to go to Vegas. There will be four to six guys. Planning on flying out either friday night or saturday morning and flying back sunday. Want to stay at the Palms. On top of that, I'm looking at this package: VIP host, 8 hr limo(gratuity included), dinner at Gordon Biersch (gratuity included), VIP access to Spearmint Rhino Gentlemen's Club including VIP table with $250 bar credit and two exotic dancers for 1 hour, VIP table service at Pure nightclub (gratuity included) reserved table including 3 bottles of premium liquor + mixers. Price is quoted at $599 per person for six people.

Does this sound like a decent deal? Could I improve on this at all either entertainment wise or price wise? Remember, that does not include the airfare or hotel, of course.

Never been to Vegas so any advice from persons who have been there would be great.
