Schools in general in Australia are good and there are some fine schools in Adelaide. The local primary and high schools will be OK, there is no need to go to the expense of a private school. If you want your children to have a good education -which includes science - do not send them anywhere near a so-called "Christian" school.

If you want to go private, there are many good private schools including the Catholic schools.

Adelaide is a long, thin city, squeezed between the coast and the Mt Lofty ranges. As far as somewhere to live is concerned, your choices are closer to the beach or closer to the hills. There are many lovely suburbs of Adelaide and many new developments as well.

You can look at Adelaide's climate here:

Extremely hot in summer!! So if you are coming from a cooler climate beware! As for schools i would either go with a private school if finances stretch that far, or a catholic school (even if you arent catholic. The catholic schools over here have a good reputation for ensuring a well rounded education). If non of these options suit, go for a christian school, by that i mean, dont go straight to a run of the mill public school. Try Lutheran, Anglican etc. Just explore your options and find what best suits you.
