I'd like to take my family to the Gatlinburg area during the week of Thanksgiving, as this is the only time the kids are out of school long enough to travel. This is pretty spur of the moment and I haven't made any hotel reservations. Will I have problems finding a room in the area? I'll accept a room in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Cherokee, even Sevierville if necessary. Does the Smokies area generally have large crowds during Thanksgiving?

always make reservations when ever you travel. especially during holidays. you probably still have time to do this. even if you reserve now with a CC. if it comes to pass you cant make the trip, you can usually cancel the trip one or two days in advance without incurring charges.
