Myself and my friend are planning to drive a rental car from New York to Toronto via Niagara falls. I am 21 and he is 18, we're both British citizens, however we are concerned about what paperwork we should bring for crossing into Canada and returning to the US? Should we inform the rental company about our plans

due to the fact that all European countries are so small, and I thing that if Europe becomes a country things would be cheaper, especialy housing (I think that housing in European countries are so expensive due to the lak of space) I think if they respect each other and each other cultures may work.
