actually i live in colorado but i never went to the mountains except black hawk, been here for 4 years but been very busy. my husband, me and our 6 months old baby want to go somewhere in colorado on labor day and come back the next day evening. can you suggest where to go, hotels, restaurants etc?

Go to glenwood springs. They have some really awesome stuff up there. and you can hang out in the hot springs. Hotel Colorado is great. If you're going to do the caves DONT! eat at the restaurant there. It's a bust. Pluse you're right in between Aspen and Vail. Or go to Estes Park, do the tour of the Stanley hotel. Take a drive thru Rocky Mountain Natl.

Going to the mountains Labor day weekend hard it'll be very busy .Manitou springs by Pikes Peak is a nice little town to walk around . The only Hotel I know there is the Cliff house it's a little pricey but nice, the are many Motels in the area.You can drive through the Garden of the Gods, Drive to the summit of pikes peak or tale the cog railway. visit 7 Falls. Cave of the winds. etc.

I live in Winter Park and it is a very family oriented mountain town. There are several motels in town such as a Best Western, the Sundowner Motel and Beaver Village Lodge that are reasonable. There is soooo much to do. Horses, BIKING!, the park, the shops, etc in town. I would stay in town one day and then go to Grand Lake about 35 min away the next day. You have tons to do there too. Also, the ski resort has an alpine slide, maze, the lifts are running to take you to the top, etc
