The Cat operates between Yarmouth NS (about a 3 hour drive from Halifax along a gorgeous ocean seashore) and Bar Harbour and Portland, Maine. It's darned expensive, but quite a ride! It's a hydrofoil ferry, one of the world's fastest, that contains restaurants, a casino and all kinds of entertainment. The trip is about 2 1/2 hours, but saves hours of driving time by land.

Check the schedule, because it doesn't operate in the late autumn, winter or early spring when the storms are too rough. The Bay of Fundy has the highest tides in the world.

I believe you are referring to The Cat, a hydro-foil carrier for cars, people and trucks which contains very luxurious traveling accommodations, shops, and eatery's on board. It runs from Yarmouth to I think Maine and takes about 2 hours running at super speeds up to 90 kph.

As the above post states, The Cat is the way to do it. Check out the following link...

It isn't that cheap but saves a boat load of time on driving the same distance (pardon the pun).
